Bad experience

We rented the house 3 days and had a great time in Windham (comfortable, nice garden). But the owner came visiting us without any notice.... came inside the house (!), washed his hands (!), came back again later (!!!).... and because there was one more familly than scheduled at the beginning (don't know why it bothered him) decided to keep the security deposit !!!! For this reason, we can't recommend the house.
Owner's Response: Laure and Thibaud I appreciate your concern. Your successful email negotiantion with us for a substantial reduction off our 3-day Holiday was based on affordability until you were able to partner with one other couple. I was happy to agree to a two couple rental rate for our 6 bedroom home in addition to multiple requests for sleds, a cuisinart, spices, extra towels and a crib, all for which you promtly expressed gratitude in writing. When I arrived at the house well past normal checkout time, I observed 3 of the 4 couples along with 10 youngsters. If you were to review our email thread, my photos of the 4 different vehicles on the property and the children sitting happily in the playroom, your bad experience of the lost securtiy deposit might be measured against the balance of your otherwise pleasant weekend memories you confirmed in notes and calls to me.. Homeowners and tenants must trust and rely on each other's correspondence and not hide behind a misunderstanding of the rental agreement due to language or cultural disparities after the fact.
In spite of that, all is forgiven and I welcome you back anytime with a credit for your relinquished deposit against a future rental. Bonsoir Mon Ami.
