From meeting us at the train station to taking care of our laundry, Ashley was the best hostess ever! The apartment was very clean and we had everything we needed for making breakfasts. The location and view of the Matterhorn was beyond spectacular and the short walk into town was not an issue because the apartment was quiet. Thank you, Ashley, for your warm and friendly personality.

We stayed in Haus Alpine for four nights for our daughter's wedding and I cannot imagine a more perfect Zermatt home. Each room had a breathtaking view of the Matterhorn and that pristine Swiss style - perfectly clean and elegant. The owner was not only conscientious about the apartment, but she gave us directions to every place we needed to go and even came by and enjoyed a party with our group one evening. It was wonderful to talk to her and learn about Zermatt from her. She took care of our entire group of 14 people (in several apartments), meeting us at the train station, taking us back to the train station. The trip would have been missing a lot without her.
The location of this apartment was perfect, within an easy walk of every place we needed to be even though some construction was going on so the shortcut was not available. The shortcut would have made it even closer to the village center, but we thought it was perfect this way and we walked everywhere. Don't miss the train to the top of the mountains - it was an unbelievable experience. Other than that, be sure to enjoy your terrace and those views of the Matterhorn - endlessly fascinating in sun, clouds, rain and moonlight.
We are 5 (discerning, okay, demanding) guys who take an annual ski trip to a different place every year and this year it was to Zermatt. This is our 5th trip to Europe and what a wonderful trip it was. It's a lovely and unique small town and this apartment has the right combination of value, location, and support.
Ashley met us at the train and was always available to answer all questions that met our every need (always with a smile). We have high expectations and she exceeded them at every turn.
The apartment is as described, except that the phots don't do justice to the majesty of the Matterhorn right out your window everyday in all types of light and weather!
If you are on the fence about driving or taking the train from the airport - take the train. We had a car so we could have some flexibility for side trips, but the trains in Switzerland go everywhere and most of your time is spent in Zermatt skiing anyway. Old town Zurich is a must see and only a one stop train ride from the airport.
If you are American and unfamiliar with taking a 1 1/2 hour gourmet lunch in a log cabin on the ski mountain - do that as well - every day. This feature cannot be overrated. Ashley will direct you how to find them. Reservations are recommended if you want to sit inside. And while we talk about how expensive Swiss restaurants are, remember that their quality is extremely high and the price includes tax and service. So we found the prices to be about what you pay for this type of food and service in the USA.
The ski mountain is huge and offers a lot of variety of skiing, including going over the ridge to Italy, depending on weather.
We would recommend Zermatt, this apartment and Ashley to anyone who wants to enjoy great food, enjoyable skiing, and concierge-like service.
Above all, the owners were really great hosts: picked us up at the train station, provided great advice on sightseeing and attractions, and answered our call when we called on Sunday morning because it was raining and we had to change our plans.
And of course, the apartment is very clean and modern with everything we could have asked for, and very well located close to the railway station and to a supermarket.
It was well worth the price - we had a great time.
For anyone who considers a holiday in Zermatt I would highly recommend Chalet Altesse. The quality and comforts of the apartments and the spa, the view from the balcony, the position (the Klein Matterhorn station is reachable on skis in a couple of minutes, snow conditions permitting, centre of Zermatt only five minutes away by ski-bus) is six-star. But it's the host who makes it really stand out - Ashley is the best - warm and attentive, always ready to help. Thank you Ashley, we had the bestest time.

Be rest assured of a warm welcome to the beautiful car free village of Zermatt, surrounded by some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the alpine world. Dominated by the huge and sublime beauty of the Matterhorn, Zermatt makes a great base for holidays at any time of the year.
