Mansion for Wedding Parties, Family Reunions, Girl Get-a-Ways

We had such a wonderful experience at this home. My friends and I were looking for a place we could get together to celebrate our 35th birthdays. We wanted an affordable place and we came across Luxury Living Savannah’s listing. It was beautifully furnished, very clean, spacious and included everything needed for a wonderful stay. The kitchen had all the amenities necessary to prepare a nice dinner. The home itself is very well maintained and owners provided all the essentials. They also left us coffee which saved the day for all of us on Sunday morning :) The location is great, a short walk to all restaurants and shops… In terms of rental experiences, I cannot possibly imagine a better one. All in all, I would highly recommend this house for any sort of large gathering -- family reunion, bachelor/bachelorette party, or just a get-together with friends.

We found the Wedding Cake House on VRBO back in July for our October family gathering in Savannah -- we needed a large place in the Historic District that could handle 15-20 of us, and allow us to have more friends and family visit at a welcoming place. The Wedding Cake House lived up to its grand presence -- for all of us. My family rented all the units -- main house, guest quarters downstairs, and carriage house -- for three days, while I spent the entire previous week in the carriage house, so I saw more than the average short-term guest -- including witnessing the poor behavior of previous guests. The owner has clearly put her heart into renovating and updating this house -- after all that work, making it available to the public is something of an act of faith. Her effort shows -- both in the house itself, and in the effort they make (even from Chicago) to make the experience work for guests. The cleaning crew (between tenants) was positively heroic.
People may have some sticker shock from the nightly cost, but do the math -- you can put up an army in this comfortable, beautiful, convenient place. (The master bath alone is worth the visit.) The place is tastefully appointed, well wired (cable and internet), and has glass-topped counters and tables so you don't worry about damaging the furniture with your cocktail. It's a place with lots of range - if people get tired of socializing there is always a comfortable place to retreat to.
If there are drawbacks they relate to a leaky dishwasher (likely fixed by now) and to the fact there are only two available parking spots in the house's garage - but in a cramped location like downtown Savannah, the parking problem is not unique to this house.
Anyway, we recommend the house and its additional units for large groups attending weddings or other family events -- we loved it. Thanks very much.

We LOVED this house. Our group consisted of five families (with kids ages 2 - 5) visiting Savannah for the first time. We found the house and furnishings to be beautiful, clean, very well maintained and very comfortable for our families. The listing was accurate, the owner very helpful and we would all recommend this property to other relatives and friends. The house is centrally located with an incredible view of the city. The modern kitchens and bathrooms, laundry rooms and tv rooms were ideal for us and we loved how period details were maintained through-out the house. We hope to get back there before too long, great place!
