The villa stands in 1.2 acres of landscaped gardens with beautiful views of the French countryside, a private swimming pool and orchard. Situated in the rolling hills and gentle countryside of the Lot et Garonne, 35 minutes from Bergerac and one and a quarter hours from Bordeaux airports. A brief stroll will take you to Duras, where you should find all the necessary shopping facilities for your stay. The villa is a well equipped spacious modern property on one level and is suitable for young families and older family members. The swimming pool, which can easily be seen from the kitchen window, is equipped with a security fence to ensure the safety of children. It has a lounge/diner, modern country style kitchen, 2 double bedrooms( one with en suite bathroom),1 twin room and a bunk bedroom. In addition to the en suite there is a shower room and a further separate WC. The large terrace together with barbecue facilities makes it a beautiful location for outside dining.

Grande Croix is a half a kilometre stroll from Duras which is a pretty bastide town with its own chateau, holding cultural and historic events during the summer. There is a weekly market selling local produce and crafts and a good selection of restaurants, shops, bakeries and two small supermarkets. A larger selection of restaurants and shopping is within easy reach, and for cultural interest Bergerac (half an hour), Bordeaux (one and a quarter hours) and Tolouse (all with international airports) are very near. Grande Croix is within easy driving distance of the Dordogne valley and the wine chateaux's of St Emillion, Bordeaux, Cahors and Monbazillac. Local small vineyards also welcome visitors for impromptu wine tasting. Golf courses are within a 40 minute drive and the area is ideal for cycling, walking and canoing on the River Dordogne. Further afield there are the sand dunes at Arcachon near Bordeaux.

Notes: The large entrance hall leads into the open plan lounge/diner, which has three sets of French windows opening onto the terrace. The lounge area is comfortably furnished with leather sofas and chair, satellite TV, Radio/CD player, toy boxes and a small library of books. The dining area can seat ten around a pine table. The fully fitted kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer, eye level electric oven, a 4 ring gas hob and microwave. The adjoining utility room contains a dishwasher, washing machine and ironing board with iron. There are two double bedrooms(one with en suite bathroom with bath/shower and WC), one twin room and a bunk bedroom for two. There is sufficient hanging and drawer capacity in each bedroom to ensure your stay is comfortable. In addition there is a shower/WC room and an additional seperate WC. All the bed linen and towels, with the exception of pool towels, are provided.Travel cot and high chair are available on request. A meal can be provided on arrival.
