Further details for this vacation apartment rental in Pembrokeshire, United Kingdom

The picturesque village of Solva in the National Park area of Pembrokeshire, offers the visitor a wealth of unspoilt coastline. The Fiord like harbour forms a safe anchorage: there are sands, rock pools and caves. Safe bathing can be enjoyed and the sailing enthusiast, fisherman, diver, ornithologist and rambler will discover a really spectacular area of interest.

"The Annexe" forms part of a large family house right at the top of Solva village. It's atmosphere is compact and tasteful, providing the visitor with all the comforts of home in lovely surroundings. The accommodation is on the ground floor and would be suitable for someone who is slightly disabled - with one small step over the threshold. The main part of the house enjoys views out over St Brides Bay but this is not quite visible from "The Annexe" windows. The village with shops and post office is 5 minutes walk away down a fairly step road.

The entrance is secluded with a patio area complete with garden seating and flowering tubs. There is a conservatory which catches the sun most of the day and where it is lovely to eat meals or just use as an extra room in which to relax. The main sitting room has a two seater settee and another large seat which converts to single sprung bed should it be required. There is a also a colour television. Adjoining the sitting room is a compact kitchen which is fully equipped with an electric cooker, microwave oven etc. The bathroom could be described as sumptuous with a bath which incorporates a seat as well as a shower overhead, built in basin, W.C. and washing machine under the airing cupboard.

Other Activities: Fast & exciting or slow and leisurely boat trips around the islands. Fishing trips from Solva Harbour.

We booked a last minute short stay in this appartment and it was everything we could have hoped for (except for the weather!!!). Penny, the owner was more than helpful, without intruding. The area is lovely, Solva has some great pubs and restaurants, and is well placed for local beaches (by car).

"The Annex" Solva

Review Submitted: September 22, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Having spent a week in early September at "The Annex" I have to say that it was every bit as good as the listing description and more. An ideal totally self-contained property for two which was very clean and well equipped although an extra stool at the breakfast bar would be a good idea as we chose to eat there instead of out in the extension where it wasn't as cosy but I expect in the height of summer that would have been a good place. We were lucky with the weather but even so the lashings of piping hot water was much appreciated after stunning walks on the coastal path. Ideally situated being able to walk into Solva harbour with good places to eat. For seafood lovers would especially recommend the dressed crab at the Old Printing Shop in Solva. However the walk back up the hill was a bit of a hike at the end of a long day. In short can thoroughly recommend "The Annex" and Solva and can't wait to make a return visit.

The Annex is a real little home, very pleasant to come back to. It is very well equipped. It would be nice to have a small table out on the patio to eat outside . Penny, the owner, is very helpful without imposing herself on you. Good access on foot to the coastal path and to a well equipped store and post office. One needs a car to get to all the lovely places around Solva. We certainly appreciated the efficient bus services. Solva itself is an attractive place with a good selection of restaurants for all tastes. There's tons of info material in the Annex.
