Villas Venado is a newer condominium project a short 150 metres walk to two of the most spectacular beaches in all of Costa Rica, Playa Junquilla to the north and Playa Venado to the south. Junquillal (hoon-key-yell) is a small Tico village with several restaurants, grocery and liquor store, sport fishing, horse back riding, and plenty of sight seeing right out your door.You may want to golf for the day, which is 30 minutes away. Your day will start early, sunrise is around 6 a.m. Take a quiet walk on the beach looking for shells or other sea life before you depart for your days excursion, or just relax at the condo enjoying the spacious pool. Enjoy your favorite beverage as the sun sets around 6 p.m. annually, the remainder of the evening can be spent at one of the local dining establishments or prepare your meal in the modern kitchen at the condo. The 'catch of the day' will undoubtedly be one of your favorites, whether you've caught it yourself or one of the local fisherman.

Villas Venado: Villas Venado is a local owned condominium with 8 luxury homes. The owners/builder have been at Playa Junquillal for many years. We want to offer you the best vacation possible. Come and visit a piece of paradise that few people will ever see. If your lucky, you may see a 'turtle hatch' at the JUNQUILLAL TURTLE NURSERY. Thanks to WWF, donations, and our local education and awareness programs, our turtle population has started to rebound. Playa Junquillal and Playa Venado are both turtle laying beaches for Ridley and Leatherback turtles. We are all excited to see the number of returning turtles to our beaches increase annually. It's easy to relax and enjoy life in Junquillal. It's no wonder a large percentage of visitors return each year. If you need a lot of entertainment and night life, Junquillal is not for you. Junquillal is a quiet village in Guanacaste, Costa Rica on the Pacific Coast. Junquillal is located just prior to a dead end road, and is away from the typical tourist hustle and bustle. We are 35 minutes from Santa Cruz, which is the largest city in the area. Santa Cruz is a typical Costa Rican town. Most locals, and part-time residents do their weekly shopping there. We do have a well stocked local grocery store for most of your daily needs. Tours to the mountains, rain forests, rivers, parks, several other beaches, etc. are all able to be done on day trips from Junquillal. The area is also known as a 'surfers paradise'!! We have a locally known 'surf break' 10 minutes from the condos

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency () unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Notes

  • We gladly accept Credit Cards for your convience. A 13% local lodging tax is included in the rate.
  • Rates at $150.00 per night in our dry season, December 1st thru April 30th and at $120.00 per night in our green season, May 1st. thru November 30th. Contact us for a quote on long term rentals. If your travel plans change, requireing a cancellation of your reservation, we will refund 50% of your reservation deposit prior to 90 days of your arrival date. There is no refund inside 90 days of your arrival date. In either case, if your reserved condo is re-rented, we will gladly refund your deposit 100%.
  • 50% of your quoted rental agreement is required to reserves your condo. A $300.00 damage/cleaning deposit is required at check in. Rates are in U.S. Dollars. The condo is not reserved until the 50% deposit is received.
    PLEASE CHECK WITH US ON AVAILABILITY, EVEN IF THE DATES YOU ARE LOOKING AT ARE SHOWN TO BE UNAVAILABLE. We try to keep our calendar up to date, but reservations do change from time to time. For groups larger than 4, we have an additional 'side by side' condo. Check with us for availability. Due to a very few inconsiderate guests, we are forced to require a refundable $300.00 damage/cleaning cash deposit (as noted above) at check in. After a brief inspection prior to your departure, your cash deposit will be gladly refunded in full, providing there is no damage to the condo, it's furnishings, and is left reasonably clean. We DO NOT expect the condo to be returned, ready for our next guests. We request the condo to be left in a 'reasonable lived in condition'.

  • Both bathrooms are ample sized, with very large tiled showers. The master bath has double sinks and a wall to wall mirror over the counter top. The primary bathroom is accessed thru a hallway entrance, and also has direct access from the 2nd bedroom. The counter tops marble and the tile thru out the condos are imported from Spain. We take pride in the construction and finish work of our condos.

  • The 2 twin beds will make into a king bed with a provided center filling pad and king linens. In advance of your arrival, advise us how the twin beds are to be arrainged. Linens are also provided for the 2 futons in the living area, which will sleep an additional 2 children. We request these only be used for small children. Our accomadations are primarly suited for a family of 4 or 2 couples. Our rates are for 1-4 people, contact us for a quote for a family of up to 6. Our condominum by-law limit us to a maximum of 6 persons.

Notes: We have a 'no smoking ' policy in the condo. We do not provide electronics, audio or video equipment. We suggest you bring your own entertainment if you plan on spending much time in the condo. There is a phone in the condo for local calls (inside Costa Rica), bring an international calling card for your 'out of country' calls. Several local resturants have wi-fi for your internet connection when needed. We also have wireless broadband available upon request, please contact us for details. We do not supply pool or beach towels, please bring your own. We have an administrator on site that can arrange maid service, and help with your tours. Check out is 10 a.m. unless prior arrangements are made IN ADVANCE at check in, with Barbara our property manager.

We visited Costa Rica in March. We brought our daughter and met our son who is a Peace Corp Volunteer in LaFlorida. The condo was perfect for the four of us. We stayed in the second floor unit and loved the view. There was always shade on the veranda and the table and chairs are tucked back in a corner out of the wind. We went horseback riding with Erika at Paradise Riding and she did a great job of making us "green horns" feel comfortable on the horses. We will return.

Fabulous accommodation

Our experience of staying in this condo was very positive - we loved it!
To start with the owners, Bud and Lori, gave us great directions on how to find Junquillal and their manager, Barbara, was waiting to check us in when we arrived.
The property is accurately described and is beautifully furnished with new comfortable furniture and equipped with new stainless appliances. Everything we could need was there! There were just the two of us, but the condo is definitely large enough for another couple - there was a huge bedroom and bathroom that we never used. We enjoyed the fact that there was no phone, TV or stereo because we wanted to be away from everything for our stay. The grounds are lovely and we spent many hours around the pool.
The description is accurate that the condo has a sea view, but it is really just a glimse through the trees. The beach is a lazy 10 mins walk.
Junquillal is a small community of mostly ex-pats who are amazingly friendly. It has a tiny but surprisingly well-stocked store, a couple of beach bars, and some very good restaurants. We didn't find a 'village centre' like a plaza or soccer field, and did miss watching Costa Rican village life unfold. However, we did some good bird watching, and drove to other beautiful local beaches to snorkel, swim, collect shells, and watch the surfers. We definitely made good use of our rental vehicle.
We ate at Guacamaya and Hotel Villa Serena, and had excellent meals at both places. We saw sunset at Barnardo's beach bar and the bar at Hotel Iguanazul, which are both frindly and scenic places. The sunset from El Castillo is supposed to be good, but we never checked it out - too busy having other fun with new frineds,
Would we go back? Definitely. Would we take friends with us? Absolutely.
