This was a great place to get away. The cabin is very nice and does have everything you would need. I would definitely stay there again when in the area. Mary is very kind and was a pleasure to meet.

This is a well maintained property in a rural area. There is a house on a lot adjacent to the cabin. The properties are separated by pines, and we did not see the neighbors. Otherwise the property is surrounded by planted fields and is relatively private. There is a nice view of a beautiful farm. The yard around the cabin is large enough for children to run around.
We did not spend much time at the cabin, but it was a nice base for for 3 adults and 13 young men who were in the area to spend time at the lake. Only one bathroom area (toilet and two shower stalls) was not a big problem. The home is more like a cabin; the amenities and furnishings are basic - no air conditioning and the walls in the bunk room were plywood. Everything was clean. There is a small deli/market about 1 mile from the cabin for basic supplies. The cabin is close to Keuka Lake, maybe 10 or 15 minutes from Penn Yan and about 1/2 hour from Branchport.
The owners are very attentive, very friendly and close by if needed. They had taken time to prepare and groom the property for our arrival. The jam and bread they provided were great. Only caution is the water, which has a lot of sulfer. You will want to bring bottled water.
We rented this property for a fall wine tour weekend. My husband and another couple (our best friends) stayed Saturday to Monday. The property is very central to a number of wineries in the area. The property owner, Mary was very hospitable with a fresh loaf of homemade bread and a jar of grape jam waiting for us upon arrival. The description of amentities was accurate, with a well supplied kitchen - we cooked breakfast and dinner both nights in the kitchen. We had wonderful weather, and enjoyed the fire pit in the back yard both nights. Thanks Mary and Leon for a wonderful weekend getaway!
The cabin was just as advertised - peaceful, rural, and rustic. The homemade bread and jam were delicious. We were comfortable and felt right at home. The cabin is immaculately clean and there were plenty of utensils and dishes for cooking. One night, we laid out in the back yard and saw the stars and the Milky Way while my daughter chased fireflies. It's been years since we saw so many stars! Even though it was mid-summer and there is no AC, we slept comfortably at night with no problems. For the most part, it was a totally wonderful place to stay. Our only complaint was the water. It was clean and plentiful, but it smelled like sulfur and tasted like sulfur. We drink tap water at home and have drunk well water before, but this was beyond our capacity to tolerate. We ended up having to buy bottled water (something we don't usually do!). It's likely that the water is simply what it is - that the family who owns this cabin has no control over it. But it did dampen our stay a bit.
Our original plan was for our four families to each rent a camper at a theme park camping resort. When the theme park was all booked we had to explore other options. My boyfriend's family owns some land and a hunting cabin near Keuka lake, and we had vacationed there a few times, so we knew we liked the area and that there was a lot to see and do around there. So I started looking up vacation rentals ON Keuka lake, boy were they out of our price range. To stay ON the lake for the week it would have cost each of our four families almost $1,000. That wasn't feasable so I looked for property CLOSE to the lake. I found this cabin a mile from the lake and got very excited, not only about the size (that it could accomodate 4 families) but also by the price. It was very affordable for each family! We had 18 people staying in the cabin (8 adults and 10 children) and we were all very comfortable. Upon arrival we were surprised with 2 loves of fresh homemade bread and concord preserves (delicious) from our host family. There is a very large table that sat at least 12 of us at a time, the living room area allowed for all the children to play comfortably and for at least 10 people to sit in comfort, and the kitchen allowed for 4 moms to move around and team cook the meals. When looking at the pictures of the cabin on line I was nervous that it wouldn't fit 18 people, but it was the perfect size. The only thing that we had to get used to was having only one bathroom. We just had to schedule showers and it wasn't too bad. We were so close to so many attractions :). We went to Hammondsport which we always like to do and we visited the corning museum of glass and watkins glen. We went fishing and could have gone swimming if the weather was a little warmer. We were also only about 10 minutes from a laundry mat, so we did all the laundry before we came home (that was GREAT). The cabin itself was absolutely beautiful. Each bedroom comfortably accomodated 2 adults and some accomodated the smaller children that couldn't sleep in the bunk room. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves here. Having the towels, washclothes and linens provided was a HUGE plus! We got into a few competitive volleyball games (net provided by our host family), and played outside a lot. The porches (Front and back) were wonderful to sit under on the rainy days. We all had a wonderful week at the cabin and definately plan to return for future family vacations.
