About this property

Rock House in town

THIS HOME CAN ONLY BE RENTED FOR 31DAYS OR LONGER. It is located on a bustling thorough fare, only 3 blocks to Main Street, but is nestled eloquently at the back of the property overlooking green space. Our home has everything you will need during your stay. It is very common to see natural wildlife such as deer during your stay. Plus, hear the church bells ring and live music from a distance!!!

This cozy and comfortable two-story house is close to Main Street, but has the feel of being out in the country. It is located within walking distance to downtown and near Barron's creek in Fredericksburg, Texas. A quaint walking bridge at the end of Ufer street makes it even closer. It is a beautiful home with hickory hardwood floors throughout. We accommodate 4 guests with 1 queen bed in the primary and 1 full sized bed in the upstairs bedroom. There is an large primary suite with a private entrance. There is a nice sized second bedroom upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped to prepare your favorite cuisine. There is a dishwasher, microwave and gas stove, and refrigerator in the galley kitchen. The bathroom is stocked with toiletries and towels. Large windows and french doors in the down stairs living area bring in the natural light to the open floor plan. Central air and heat help keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Parking is provided to the left of the house. Additional parking can be discussed if needed. The backyard comes with a hammock and BBQ pit. There is also a clothes line if you prefer hanging your clothes out to dry.
We believe in minimizing our carbon footprint and hope you will do the same during your stay. We support recycling and and encourage you to put recyclables (glass, plastic, aluminum, clean paper, cardboard and any products with the recycling symbol) in the designated recycling bin.
This is a remarkable house with many fine touches. Because this is a family home, we look forward to welcoming you into our family. However, even though we adore children, this home does not allow children as guests.

The hosts welcome you with open arms and make sure your stay is well catered to. I stayed here for an extended time and loved it. The house is quaint, old time-y farm house feel indoors. I never really went upstairs but the side bedroom was great! The backyard is open to wildlife and I saw plenty of deer, an owl, hummingbirds, a fox, etc. Also, there are glasses in the home from several wineries, and lots of them will give a free pour if you bring the glass (call ahead to ensure). This is a great place for a get away to Fredericksburg!!

About the host

My husband built and designed this home for our family. We took great care in making the home special with touches like high ceilings in the open living space. The mural on the staircase was painted by his late mother. Most of the doors and windows along with the bathroom fixtures are from homes that were much older. The floors are milled hickory from Fredericksburg. The house is situated at the back of the property facing the Barron's creek to give you the advantage of being in town but feeling like you are in the country.

Why they chose this property

This house is perfect for a couple looking to explore the beautiful Texas Hill Country. We only allow adults, no children allowed.

What makes this property unique

The house is minutes away from town with everything necessary.
