LOCATION in the HEART OF WAIKIKI:
This vacation rental is in Seaside Towers located at 435 Seaside Ave. It is close to Waikiki Beach and the International Marketplace. There are almost too many restaurants to name within a 5 block walk. Within 1 block they include: Starbucks, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, Seaside Bar & Grill, Tsunami's, Matteo's, Jack in the Box, & Denny's. Within a few more blocks you find: California Pizza Kitchen, Chili's, Keo's Thai, Tanaka of Tokyo, Top of Waikiki, and even McDonald's. Located at the new Waikiki Beachwalk you will find the following: Roy's, Yardhouse, Nobu's & Gelatos. The renovations at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center continue but you will also find The Cheesecake Factory, The Mai Tai Bar, and Westin Maoana Surfrider's Beach Bar. The restaurants and bars are in endless supply.
GROCERY SHOPPING:
Unfortunately there is one grocery store in Wakiki called Food Pantry and conveniently located only 2 blocks away. Food Pantry has the infamous Papa Beard's Creampuffs located in the store. Safeway has almost completed a new store on Kapahulu Avenue and should be opening sometime in November. For quick and smaller purchases there are 38 ABC mini convenience stores located throughout Waikiki, which means one on most every corner of every block. Closer to Ala Moana Shopping center there is a Don Quixote just off Kapiolani Blvd. There are a few other local grocery stores within a 3 mile radius. For larger purchases there is a Sam's Club above Wal-Mart on Keeamoku near Ala Moana Shopping Center.
TRANSPORTATION:
The Bus system in Honolulu is one of the best in the country. Kuhio Ave is a main line for buses and is 1/2 block away. $2.00 will take you just about anywhere one way and you do not have to worry about driving.
