The year-round cottage is comfortably furnished, and has cotton bed linens and down comforters, and a fully equipped kitchen. The fireplace is cozy when the weather is cool, and the screened porch is comfortable for relaxing and dining in summer.

Located just a block down a country dirt private lane from beautiful Lake Buel with its shared swimming and boating beach, 5 minutes from Ski Butternut, 10 minutes from the town of Great Barrington with its fine restaurants and shopping, 20 minutes from Tanglewood Music Festival, the Norman Rockwell Museum, The Berkshire Botanical Gardens, the quaint towns of Stockbridge and Lenox, and Catamont Ski Area, and 30 minutes from Jacobs Pillow Dance Theater. The Applachian Trail, with great hiking and snowshoeing, is 1/4 mile away. Bikes are rented in Great Barrington.

The Berkshire area also has many fine local theater groups, and a wonderful selection of fine restaurants. Skiing, hiking, swimming, fishing, biking, golfing are nearby and the area has many beautiful state parks.

This property was just what we needed, secluded, yet not far from anything we needed. Very quiet, and relaxing. Would definitely visit again. Cottage was very comfortable and just right for our family. The dog loved it here and especially the outdoors.

Lovely Cottage

Cottage was lovely. Had everything we needed including a washing machine. Easy acces to great Barrington, Stockbridge and Lenox. WiFi in the cottage. Thankfully no cell reception (so work could not easily bother us) or cable television (so we were forced to interact, play board games and read).

Hosts are extremely helpful and nearby in case you need anything.

Thanksgiving in the Berkshires!

We just returned from a FABULOUS Thanksgiving weekend at the cottage! What a great place to stay! Close to everything, shopping, eating, winery, etc.! Our dog loved the daily walks down to the water! We even saw a bald eagle!!! The fireplace was lit every night and we even roasted chestnuts! Having NO cell coverage, NO tv, NO internet (because we chose not too) was the best! We watched many movies and enjoyed reading and relaxing! I would highly recommend this place for a couple OR more! I think our next stay will include a few friends!!! Thanks Kathy & John!

Great Rental

The cottage was exactly as listed and just what we were looking for. Cozy, quiet and comfortable. The weather was in the 90's yet the cottage remained cool both day and night. We brought our kayak and left it at the community dock during our entire stay. We met several families that own property in the neighborhood. They we all extremely welcoming and provided helpful day trip tips. The owner of the cottage was very easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend this cottage and Great Barrington.

A Comfy and Cozy Cabin in a wonderful setting

What a wonderful place to stay at. This cabin gives you a hug when you walk in the front door. Charming and very comfy and cozy. The owners are some of the nicest people we have ever rented from. We would reccommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat. Our dog Spencer felt right at home and enjoyed walks around the area. The fireplace was wonderful. The bedrooms were so cozy and we all slept like babies in the high quality linens. For the gourmet cook, the kitchen is well equipped. The tiled bathroom showers were the best with the shower massager and great water pressure. We cannot wait to go back. Thank you Kathy and John for everything. We are looking forward to creating more wonderful memories at your cotttage. Truly a home away from home gem!! We could not have asked for more. Thanks again!!
