The Breakers - the grandest of the Newport summer cottages, with 70 rooms, built for Cornelius Vanderbilt II. Its interior include rich marbles and gilded rooms with open-air terraces offering magnificent ocean views. A National Historic Landmark.
The Elms - a French-style chateau was built for Philadelphia coal magnate Edward Julius Berwind. Located on a breath-taking 10 acre park, with a restored French Classical design sunken garden, it was a thoroughly modern house in its time. The Elms offers exclusive evening receptions with wine and canapes.
