Walk to Main Street just one block away to find shopping, restaurants, galleries, museums, ski/board/bike rentals, and many other services. The BreckConnect Gondola is just across the street. When you are ready for a hot tub, ski back to Mountain Thunder Lodge on the Skiway/Skyway. Relax in one of three hot tubs, or enjoy the year round heated pool. Mountain Thunder Lodge is beautifully decorated with an elegant but rustic feel. The main floor Lodge room is a sitting area that features log accents, slate floors, plush furniture, and a fireplace. Store your skis in your private equipment locker, park in the underground heated garage. Work out in the on site exercise room, or take the kids to the on site playground. Summit County offers numerous recreational activities. During the winter, you can downhill ski, snowboard, cross country ski, snowshoe on marked trails, ice skate indoors or out, go sledding, go tubing, take a sleigh ride. Winter festivals include the Lighting of the Breckenridge, Ullrfest, the International Snow Carving Championships, Mardi Gras, and the April Fools Day Spring Massive.

Summer activities include hiking and biking on a large network of trails. You can bike to Vail and back! There are numerous bike rental stores in town. The Jack Nicklaus designed golf course is nearby, and there are other courses in Summit County to enjoy. In nearby Dillon, you can boat, sail, camp, canoe, and fish. The recreation center offers pools, basketball courts, indoor climbing, tennis courts, and fitness programs. Summer and fall festivals include Main Street performances all summer, Fourth of July, Genuine Jazz on July, Labor Day Weekend, and Oktoberfest. The surrounding communities also have great festivals.

If you want to shop and dine, you'll love Summit County! You can enjoy dining in the many wonderful restaurants in Breckenridge. Most post their menu's out front, so you can take a look while you're walking and shopping on Main St. Frisco also has many wonderful shops, and don't forget about the Silverthorne Outlets. Frisco has a Walmart, perfect for the last minute supplies you may need, and a City Market grocery is just a block down the street. Several spas in town offer massage, facials, etc.

We have just returned from my niece's wedding in beautiful Breckenridge. I had to take a moment to share the best kept secret in Breckenridge....THIS CONDO!! I am very fortunate to travel quite extensively w/ my husband's business. We have stayed in some luxury hotels and rented several times before on VRBO. We've had a few duds, but let me tell you...this Condo is BEAUTIFUL! It's spotless, new (Mountain Thunder is one of the newer properties in B'ridge), and a terrific location near the ski gondola's. The pool & hottub area were clean as well. Beautifully decorated, comfy beds and reasonably priced...just perfect! We had 2 adults and 2 kids w/ us and had more than enough room. I would also like to compliment the staff at Mtn. Thunder. All were friendly & professional...a winning combination.
