Disappointed in the amenities
Review Submitted: April 1, 2009

Although this house is beautiful, the amenities that are listed compared to what is actually supplied was VERY DISAPPOINTING. We had 11 women in our party so to say the least we expected more toilet paper, wash clothes and towels to be available. The DVD player was not working, there was NO stero system or blender, and the hot tub was broken. We had plans to BBQ because their was a grill listed but the propane tank was EMPTY!!.
There should also be a listing of attractions and restaurants in the area in the house for guests. If you are going to rent this house, please make sure that you bring these extras if possible.
Owner's Response: We're very sorry that your experience was less than you expected. However, we do feel compelled to respond. We have literally had hundreds of guests at our two homes and this is the first ever less than stellar review. That's not to say that every stay has been perfect, but if we're given the chance to help accommodate a guest, we will do so at every opportunity. The overwhelming response to our two homes has been completely positive. We're sorry you felt we fell short, however, we never heard a word from you during your stay to let us know otherwise. If we had, as you'll see below, most of your issues were simply a lack of communication.
- We state that we only provide a starter set of paper products (usually two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, and one or two paper towel rolls in the kitchen). I can imagine with 11 women that if you didn't bring anymore than what is provided at check-in that you ran out.
- We provide 3-4 four bath towels per bathroom. If you didn't find that many on arrival our apologies, I wish you would have let us know so we could rectify the situation for you.
- We weren't aware that the DVD player wasn't broken. However, there is a stereo system (it's built-into the house with hidden speakers), if you would have called to ask, we would have been happy to show you how to use it.
- In addition to supplying a stainless steel grill, we also provide two propane tanks (we keep a spare in case the last guest uses up a tank and doesn't replace it). It's kept on the side deck. If you would have called us to let us know you were without propane, we would have been happy to help you by letting you know how to attach the spare. Additionally, at the corner gas station, they provide propane tank refills, so if you do run out of both tanks, there's a very convenient and close place to do a tank swap.
- We let you know at check-in that the hot tub was being serviced. Unfortunately, when they came to service it, they needed to order a part that didn't come in time for your stay.
