The property is located on Greenwood Road, off Village Road. A map of New Providence Island is available on line. Greenwood Road is on a quiet residential street. the cottage is situated in a beautiful garden, ajacent to the main house which was built circa 1924. it is tastefully furnished, air conditioned and charming. The upstairs has hardwood floors, bedroom, bathroom closet and cable TV. The downstairs has a small living area and kitchen, and a tiled floor. Outside is a covered patio.next to a fishpond.A private pool, outside sitting area and bar is available for the use of our guests. Privacy, serenity and a manicured garden are the main features of our property. Comlimentary wine and laundry is provided and our housekeeper will clean the cottage four days a week There is easy access to all shopping and restuarants. The cottage sleeps 2. A rental car is an advantage but not a necessity. We are unable to take children, and we are on New Providence Island, NOT Paradise Island

There is an Art and Wine Festival at the Bahamas National Trust, at the end of October and an annual Christmas Fair in November which is in it's tenth year, and immensely popular., and an International Food Fair at the Botanical Garden, also in November There is a fast Ferry boat which goes to Harbour Island every morning at 8am, returning to Nassau at 3pm.and drive on drive off car Ferries to Eleuthera, Exuma and Andros three times a week. If you decide that you want to stay with us we would suggest renting a car at the airport, and we will then give you driving directions, or you can get a taxi to the house for about $40.00 . Greenwood Road is Off Village Road and about 20 minutes drive from the Airport, and a five minute drive to Paradise Island.. We have cats, who will not bother you unless you want them to, but which could present a problem for anyone with serious allergies. . Leonard and Christina Smith

Simply Superb !!!

I have been coming to Nassau for over 20 years and always stay at a townhouse on Cable Beach. What a refreshing change of pace. My husband & I chose 'Cat Walk' for a mini-trip to celebrate his birthday and visit friends.

Leonard & Chrissie are the most accomodating hosts I have experienced. They know all the right touches to make your stay enjoyable, stressfree and relaxing.

The cottage is quiant and comfortable. Eating breakfast every morning on the patio was blissful. Waking up to the birds chirping and the smell of freshness is peaceful. Words cannot describe the gardens, they are truly unique and beautiful.

We had friends over for wine & cheese one afternoon and they spent more time oogling over the garden, birds and cats, than they did chatting with us. But it was so enjoyable to have that opportunity to share this wonderful place.

We hope to visit again for a longer period of time and get to spend some 'social' time with our host and hostess.

This was one of the most relaxing and serene vacations that my husband & I have ever experienced and would recommend it.

We rented a car but you really don't need one as there are 2 buses that pass at the end of the street daily. The location is close to Fort Montague and eastside beaches. Montague Gardens is close by and an awesome restaurant to eat at for lunch or dinner.

Peaceful and relaxing

My wife and I stayed at the cottage for a week and enjoyed it very much. The property is set up to be out of the main stream of tourists and was a very nice change of pace from the working world. Also, our hosts were very accomodating and took care of every anticipated need, as well as provide us with excellent concierge services for the local restaurants. Leonard and Crissie were helpful in every way and also were quite nice conversation partners as well. If you are looking to get away and have an unstressed island vacation, this could be the place.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

This was the perfect get-away for us, nice and quiet away from touristy stuff and in the back garden of the most wonderful and hospitable hosts! We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the garden and thank you to Leonard and Christine for taking the time to show us how to get around in the town! Thank you for a lovely week!

A Wonderful Vacation Experience

This is a wonderful little hideaway and is exactly as advertized. The hosts are both kind and helpful and the cottage is functional and very quiet.

Do not hesitate to use the Jitney. The one that heads directly into town takes about 15 minutes, but comes only once an hour (around minute 40).

Also the village shop at the end of the road has great sandwiches and tea treats avail every morning at very reasonable prices.

Perfection Plus

This was a nostalgic return for us having worked as teachers for the Bahamian Government from 1968 to 1972. We wanted to avoid the usual 'hotel' type holiday and 'live' in Nassau once again. We couldn't have chosen better and this wonderful little hideaway is perfection plus. The property had everything you could possibly need, was clean and very well maintained and had the most comfotable bed I have slept on, ever. Our hosts Leonard and Chrissie couldn't have done more and were the perfect hosts from delivering the morning paper to our breakfast table to providing the opportunity to chat over a drink at the end of the day.

We're keen birdwatchers and the amazing garden around the house was a birding paradise with a continuous stream of migrating birds. We recorded almost 40 different species without moving from the table on our patio. Add to this our nightly visit from the resident family of racoons and Leonard's amazing knowledge of everything about the Bahamas and you very quickly realise that staying here is so much better than at one of the massive hotel complexes on the island.

Don't consider staying anywhere else - but don't tell everybody!!
