The brilliant turquoise waters of the Atlantic, caressing the white sandy beach, provide a serene atmosphere for distressing. Whether lounging on hammocks beneath the gazebo (approx. 750 sqft.), or whale watching from the 2100 square foot deck on the bluff, this home is an exquisite getaway. This setting combines Rincon's world famous surfing beaches, and incredible sunsets overlooking Desecheo Island in a luxurious home.
This beautiful property was purchased in 2003 and has undergone a major renovation, finishing in 2007. Coralina Del Mar acquired its name as a result of the gorgeous coralina stone that wraps around the entire home. The beautiful stone is a product of millions of years of coral accumulation throughout the Caribbean, and now is mined in similar fashion to granite and other like-types of stone. We are thrilled with the outcome and hope you enjoy it as much as we did getting it ready for guests. Our goal is to make this home 'green' as possible, yet providing comfortable accommodations for our guests, seeking a getaway from their hectic schedules. You will find motion censored faucets in all bathrooms to help reduce water consumption. All shower heads are equipped with low flow output to again reduce excess water usage. Our hot water comes from solar panels, located on top of the roof, and are entirely independent of the electric grid. You will also find solar panel lighting in various places outdoors to continue to reduce electric consumption. The island of Puerto Rico is entirely dependent on petroleum as their source of energy and therefore the cost of electricity is nearly three to four times that of the USA. To help reduce plastic waste, a water filtering system was installed that provides our guests with triple filtered water. We are looking into solar and wind power to generate all of our energy needs and be entirely off the support of local energy suppliers. We hope to utilize the abundant sun and wind Mother Nature has provided us here in the Caribbean and contribute in helping future generations enjoy our beautiful island and world. We hope you assist us in our conserving energy while you visit our gorgeous home!
Memorable Weddings, Family Gatherings or Events: This tropical location is ideal for small wedding parties, family gatherings or reunions. The rock bluff, with expansive deck, is a romantic location for an intimate sunset wedding or simply making memories with family or friends. Picturesque sunsets with pink, orange, and blue hues radiating from the sky and waves crashing on the rocks below will make your event one to remember. The large gazebo can accommodate small wedding receptions of 60 or less.
Event and wedding fees are additional.
We purchased our home in 2004 and when we moved to Puerto Rico in 2006, we totally renovated the property to make it one of the most highly desired places in Rincon. We have been personally managing the house for over 7 years and love being in the business of assisting people in their efforts to create lasting memories.
Kristine Yeckley purchased this house in 2004
We chose the property with the intent on making it an exclusive getaway place for large families and groups to spend quality time together.
Our home has very unique qualities that aren't offered anywhere else in the area. Our thatched palm gazebo gives guests a true feeling of Caribbean flair and our expansive upper deck will be your favorite place during your stay to watch whales and surfers.
We had 3 families here this past week. It was very comfortable to stay here, plenty of room and much to do in the area. We enjoyed the beach with surfing, snorkeling, beach glass hunting, and simply relaxing in the perfect house for the perfect vacation. Thanks so much and we'll be back again.
After seeing this property from the beach on my last trip to Rincon, I knew that we would have to stay there when we returned. So I found the property on line and booked it for my family and friends. The pictures do not do this property justice! The outdoor living space was unbelievable...we spent most of our time here! The location is unbeatable. So private and great location right on Sandy Beach. We are already planning a return trip. We will definitely be back! I already miss my morning coffee on the patio and my daily dips in the pool with my son. Thanks so much Rusty and Kristine! What a gem you have!
This a great location if you want to experience Puerto Rico off the grid. The views and beach location are spectacular. The neighborhood is quiet, the people are friendly and the place is perfect if you want to relax and be private. My only complaint is that the property was not 100% ready. The air conditioner in one of the rooms broke, there was no hot water in most of the bathrooms and some of the amenities were not satisfactory, which was disappointing especially for the price for the rental. Overall, I would recommend this property.
We stayed with a group of 10 people, mostly singles and from all over the states and we could not have been more comfortable at this beautiful home. The pictures are great, but do not do the property justice. The first floor is huge, with 3 large bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a large dining room and HUGE kitchen. This opens up to an awesome gazebo where we all enjoyed 2 hammocks, listening to music and there is plenty of comfy furniture to seat at least 20 people without an issue. The grill is great, but the breeze that comes in from the side makes it hard to keep temperature, some sort of screen would help to block the sea breeze and allow the grill to maintain heat. The laundry came in handy as we ended up washing towels mid way through our 9 day stay. The deck is enormous and wraps around the entire rear and side of the home, providing some of the most beautiful views of the sunset as well as down Sandy Beach toward Tamboo. The upper level boasts 2 separate "apartments" that can be combined by opening up a large door that separates the two of them. One side has 2 bedrooms and a bath, a nice sized livingroom, small dining area and kitchen. The other side boasts a small livingroom, small dining area, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The layout of the home allowed for total privacy or a fun group gathering, it was more than perfect. The house is within walking distance to a small convenience store where you can pick up beer and liquor among other items and tons of places to eat and drink. A short drive will take you into town and to tons of other beaches for a change of pace. We vacation in Rincon every year and have always had an excellent time, but this year, at this house took the cake. We plan on booking for 2016 and every year they will have us thereafter. Everyone went back home to their cities with smiles from ear to ear and pictures to make everyone jealous. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your stunning home and for bringing us the extra hammock, you made our year!
Just got back from an amazing week at Coralina Del Mar. We were a group of 13 adults - couples and singles - and there was plenty of space for everyone... and then some. We've traveled to Rincon many times, and this was by far, the nicest place we've stayed. The location can't be beat - right on Sandy Beach, overlooking the beautiful ocean. The home is within walking distance to many little shops and restaurants, including Tamboo, Kabanas, Pool Bar, Big Kahuna Beach Bar, Rincon Taco, and more. The outdoor space at the house was the best part - there are so many options for relaxing - whether it's under the thatched roof gazebo, or poolside, or one of the many decks, with options for both sun and shade. We found the beds to be very comfy and the linens very nice. The kitchens were well stocked - especially the larger downstairs kitchen, which was where we did most of the cooking. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues that need to be addressed, but nothing that detracted from our stay. We informed the owner of these issues, so hopefully they can be addressed for future renters. Overall, we would definitely recommend this property for anyone looking for a place to stay with a large group in Rincon!
I enjoyed a fantastic week at the Coralina Del Mar with a group of 14 family members, 4 kids 5 to 11 and 10 adults from 42 to 75. We came from Boston, MA, Hampden, ME, London, England, and Fort Lauderdale, FL. It is quite a drive from San Juan, but it is well worth it, and you can always explore flying to the Rafael Hernández Airport, which is only about 45 minutes away. For anyone that has not been to PR, the drive from San Juan in daylight provides a wonderful introduction to the island's rugged and spectacular geography.
Our first, and lasting impression of the property, is that the photographs online do not do it justice, it is even better in reality. Although we had the odd minor issue, each of which was responded to in a timely fashion, it did not detract from the fabulous time we all had. For example, we took a number of Christmas movies to watch, but there was no DVD player. We called to ask about this, and the very next day, a brand new DVD player was delivered. The bottom line is that if you keep in perspective where you are, and understand that a big selling point for visiting PR is that the pace of life is slower, and you embrace Island Time, you will have a most excellent and memorable experience.
Sandy Beach is awesome, although when the surf is up, which it was about all the time, it is not for the faint of heart, less confident swimmers, or for very young children. We enjoyed taking the kids to the Rincon Marina beach, which is much more sheltered and provided some good snorkling at the northern end.
The house has all the necessary equipment, and we did cook a number of meals. We enjoyed a Pig Roast, which was quite an event, although we would recommend inviting a bunch of people as we are sure it could feed 40 or more. Alternatively, there are plenty of leftovers, which we made good use of.
A huge selling point for us was the Gazebo which allowed us to have a number of meals all sitting together (we rented a couple of large tables and chairs - done through the caterer that we had provide a couple of excellent evening meals www.tastebudspr.com - which I would highly recommend).
Another big selling point was that even though the high temperature was consistently 80 to 86 degrees, there was a steady breeze of the ocean that meant it was never uncomfortable.
We made good use of the Tamboo bar and restaurant up the beach, which again I would recommend highly.
Our visit exceeded everyone's expectation
Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc?
The listing was accurate, but it did not do the property justice. We were pleasantly surprised at how relaxing the place was as soon as we stepped through the doors.
Was the property clean and well-maintained?
Did the owner or manager provide good customer service?
Perfect service. The property manager met us upon our arrival, and he showed us everything we needed to know to take full advantage of all the amenities in the house and property.
Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative?
Yes. I would recommend this especially to a very large group. Three small families could enjoy this property and feel as though they each have a private space. Common spaces are spectacular.
What activities, attractions and restaurants did you enjoy?
Our group took surfing lessons with 787Surf and it was rigorous and well worth the money. We were able to get a small discount for a group rate (8 adults). We also ate at Shipwreck and Tamboo.
One suggestion for owners: grille needs to be updated.
