Hiking & Kayaking::
Take a short 2 minute walk from the cottage to Bare Knee Kayak rentals.
Kayak the Saco River or Kayak in the Ocean. They also have double kayak's so
you can even bring little explorers along.
Hike the Ferry Landing Trail. Its a short 30 minute hike which is suitable for all levels & ages of hiking.
Fishing, wildlife:
Great fishing is just a short walk down to the Marina. There's a small Bate & Tackle shop at the Marina for those who would like to fish for the day. People love to fish off the Jetty.
The Rachel Carson Wildlife Preserve is a 5 minute drive for those of you who may be interested in some bird
watching. If your staying in the month of June call them to reserve a spot for your children at the Fishing Derby. 207-646-9226
Early morning time is usually the best time if your in search for some starfish, snails or beautiful seashells.
Fireworks & Family Fun & Resturants:
Watch the Old Orchard Beach fireworks show without leaving the quiet of the cottages front porch.
Every Thursday night from June 25th to Labor Day weekend.
Saco's Funtown Splash town is just a 5 minute drive on Rt 1.
There are so many great seafood resturants in the Saco area. Two are just a few blocks from the Lovlee View Cottage. Huots Restaurant offers dining in or take out service so you can enjoy the views right from Lovlee Views front porch. The general store will also steam your Lobster for you or buy some from our neighbor The Fishin' Optician & steam them at the cottage. There's a Hannaford, Stop & Shop and Walmart and many other stores within a 5-10 minute drive of the cottage.
Take a walk down to Seaside Pottery where you can buy beautiful handmade pottery. There are many antique shops and art gallery's within a short drive. Spend the day shopping at the Kittery Outlets just a 1/2 hr away.
