Review for Bahia Mar Resort - Treasure Island

The description was fairly accuracute. It did not have a hot tub or the WiFi that we expected. These were issues that we countered with the rental company. We needed the WiFi as our jobs needed attention throughout the week. However, the quality of the room itself was great. The beds were very comfortable and it was spacious enough for eight. The kitchen was large enough and all appliances came in very handy.
The property was clean. It was well manicured and the pool was super. This may very well have been because only two units have been sold in this development. No one was there - which was just fine by us.
The lady from the rental company was a little hard core. She was not the most helpful or friendliest of people but we never had to see her again outside of getting the keys.
I would reccommend this property to a friend. The resort itself was great. The location was quiet and away from the more commercialized areas such as St. Pete and Clearwater. Some restaurants are within walking distance but most everything is just a short car ride away.
We dined, parasailed and enjoyed the boardwalk at John's Pass. At Treasure Island, we ate at Sloppy Joes (recommend), Bubba Gump's (recommend), Mulligan (Not recommend), Gator's (recommend). We stayed in for most breakfast and lunches.
Overall, it was a nice time away from home. The beach was nice and it was a very short walk across the street. The views were great as you could stand from several of the balcony's and see either the Gulf or the Bay directly behind. The view of the stip itself is a little older while our building was brand new.
I would say this would be a great place for anyone looking to relax. The amenities are there. It is not necessarily a place for kids in that it is not so much a commercialized area. Now, with that said, everything is within a short drive for kids to enjoy. We travel the Florida gulf coast pretty extensively and overall the resort was as nice a place that we've stayed. The beach was OK but not as pretty as some other destinations. Access from the Tampa airport makes the drive to Bahia Mar about a 35 minute car ride. It was a good trip. Would possibly be interested again.
