Further details for this vacation house rental in Tucson, Arizona

Ambiance: I love watching the setting sun from my back patio or just sitting in family room on the leather sectional and glancing out at the changing colors on the Catalinas as I watch the news or for an even more spectacular sight heading up to Gates Pass and sitting on the rocks as the Sun sets across the valley that contains Suguaro National Park West. After sunset quite often I head out to the hot tub and as I soak I watch the Stars overhead and the City lights below and listen to the sounds of the desert as the coyotes howl. My house is decorated in Southwest style with a touch of Tuscany, multiple ceiling heights, a gathering room area that includes a family room, dining and a kitchen with natural maple kitchen cabinets, slate countertops and stainless appliances, a large living room area with fireplace, two master suites and a den/bedroom . Porcelain stone tiles, maple wood floors and zapotec and kilim rugs are through out most living areas with beautiful art and accents.

Activities: My daughter and son and their families love to visit Tucson because as they say the weather is great and their is so much to do. Things to do include Sabino Canyon, the wonderful Desert Museum, Reid Park Zoo, Tucson Museum of Art, Tucson Children's Museum, Pima Air Museum, Old Tucson, San Xavier del bac Mission Church, Mount Lemon, Madera Canyon, Tubac with it's wonderful shopping and historical presido, Old Mexico, Saguaro National Parks, Kitt Peak National Observatory, Kartchner Caverns, Tombstone, Bisbee and much much more. Too much-- you'll have to come again. Phoenix is only 1 1/2 hours up Interstate 10.

Other Activities: Outdoor Hot Tub

A joy to rent - great views and great location

Tucson Lover Maryland
Review Submitted: January 25, 2008 Date of Stay: January 2008
This home was a true joy to rent - it was exactly as pictured in the photos and more. The home was immaculate and well prepared for our arrival with new towels and linens, laundry and bath amenities, firewood and kitchen supplies. The location is quiet and secluded, with great views from the back yard (especially the hot tub - check out the city lights at night) making it perfect for a couples getaway. The layout is also good for older travelers and/or those with physical limitations as it`s all on one level.

The home is close to great hiking for those who love the outdoors - there`s a trailhead just minutes away within walking distance at the JW Marriott Starr Pass, and many more just a short drive away in Saguaro Park west. Downtown Tucson is just minutes away by car, so shopping and restaurants are close by - there are also a Safeway and Albertsons five minutes away by car, and numerous take out and delivery options close by.

The owner went above and beyond to see to our needs, and as a long time resident of Tucson was able to give us an insider`s view on restaurants and activities. I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again in future.
Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review. The house was my first home in Tucson and I appreciate that others like it as much as I do.

Outstanding in Every Way

Review Submitted: May 8, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
As the previous reviewer wrote, the property was all it was shown and represented to be and better. We just could not have asked for a better place to use as our base to see the sights of tucson and southern Az. We are so glad we did not rent out east or north of town as we originally contemplated. The house was immaculate and though we were just a couple, it would be great for more than two because the master is on the other side of the house from the other large bedroom and bath and the den (extra bedroom). The patio was divine with wildlife everywhere around us with great views both in the day and night. Everything we could of wanted was already there. We are pretty picky folk too and have rented many private homes over the years and again rate this as good an experience as we could have. Walking distance to the Marriot resort you can check out at their location at starrpass dotcom tol see what it looks like around this wonderful home. A great resort living neighborhood to walk around in day or night. The only thing we found difficult at this location was that the choice of higher quality restaurants are very limited and you have to travel quite a ways across town if you don't want to eat at the resort priced restaurant at the Marriot. Lots of take out and fast food places all within a few miles, but the environment, location, and the house more than offset that one limitation to us. We really hope Bill doesn't sell the house so we could rent it again when we return. This one level home is definitely comfortable for those of us more senior. The neighborhood is very very quiet and peaceful. Furnishings great and as I say, it just doesn't get any better and priced better than a room at the Marriot down the road. We own a two million dollar plus home in California so you can trust me when I say, this place is just wonderful and the owner a real delight to work with.
