AMAZING LOCATION

Hi all,
I seached so many websites and emailed alot of people. The family that owns the house has owned it for 30 years. They have only started renting their house in the last few years and they only rent it for the part of the summer that they are not there. I have been renting for a week in Nantucket for about 8 years and all over the island, Madeket, Surfside, Town, Miacomet, Scionset, even other parts of Cisco but I liked: this house, the experience, and the price was better than all the other houses I looked at so I rented it for 2 weeks for the first time.
What did it for me was the location on the island.I would take a 20 minute jog to the center of downtown in the morning and at night, though the house is private and intimate, the neighborhood is very friendly and personable. A couple of the nights there, some of the neighbors threw outdoor cocktail parties and the entire neighborhood was invited, including us.
I would drive and/or use the bikes provided and head to Bartletts Farm, a mile away. There, you can get the freshest fruit and vegetables, many gourmet prepared meals/sandwiches,and they have amazing assortments of freshly picked flowers. On the way back we would stop by Cisco Brewery and Winery, and there you can sit and have a wine/beer tour. There is outdoor seating and you can either be there by yourslef or you can be there and 50 people are hanging out. Even closer to the house was an amzing Fish market, where you get the freshest local seafood; lobster, clams, scallops, swordfish, oysters, etc.
We have 11 yr. old boy, and a 7 yr. old daugheter and they loved it so much. The neighborhood had several children of all ages, from infants to ealy 20's. You'd see people around the neighborhood and then at the beach, which is only a very short walk from the house. All the kids got along and played at the beach. Today my son and daughter both email and talk to friends they met last year. They are going to see their friends this year too. The house also had a lot of puzzles, board games and outdoor games(wifle ball) for everyone.
I was very impressed with the condtion of this house, it was recently remodeled and is furnished beautifully. Brand new appliances and airconditioning in the master bedroom where this is a 40" flat screen TV too was nice. The yard was amazing, beautiful Hydranga everywhere and professionally manicured.
The experience was amazing and llok forward to this year.
