Luquillo Vacation Rental condo

We stayed at this condo from Aug. 4th - Aug. 7th. We were so happy and satisfied we hope to go back next year. It was all the owners said it would be and met everyone's expectations, including our teenagers. The owners and staff were very informative about the area, places to visit and money saving tips. The decor was perfect for a beach front condo and the bedrooms were very, very comfy. The view from the balcony was spectacular; the sea breeze was awesome; the sunrise was amazing...and it was all so magical! And needless to say that the cost was very, very reasonable. Our only disappointment was that the condo was available for only 3 nights. Next time I'll book way ahead of time. Thank you, thank you for allowing my family to stay in your Luquillo home. We strongly recommend this fabulous place for your stay when you visit Puerto Rico.

My husband and I and son and girlfriend stayed at Playa Azul from May 2-9th. At first we were worried when we pulled in as all the doors had "bars" on them. I went to the property mgmt co and asked if it was safe. They told me it is so you can leave your front door open and feel the cross breezes. Oh. This worked well. And let me tell you, you get the breeze. After driving around I noticed all the homes apts had this bars on the front doors. So every night, we would leave our front and back doors open, and never needed the air. Its only in the 2 bedrooms.
The condo was great. Had everything you could think of and more. Our bedroom was very comfy. Plenty of room.
The guest bedroom was great as you can put the 2 twin beds together for a king size one.
Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Although we only prepaired breakfast and lunch, we had everything.
She had beach chairs,umbrella,coolers one with wheels, beach toys for kids and adults. Beach towles. The patio, which we spent alot of time on had table and chairs for 6 plus a lounger. Every morning we would have coffee out there. Since I never can sleep past 6:30 I was always out there reading and enjoying the view.
We were given 4 keys upon check in, and you had to have them for everything. But that's ok, we felt very safe.
Sunday is the day all the locals come to the beach, so they were still partying at 3am. We just shut our windows and turned on the air. the rest of the time, not too many people on the beach.
There is a Amego food store/Walgreens/McDonalds just accross the street. We went there almost everyday.
We ate at the Brass Catacus twice, the pizza place, and rest of the time out to dinner.The Kioskos are very close too. We did drive to Luquillo beach which was just down the street, about 1 mile, very calm beach. Our beach was pretty choppy.
This place is very central to alot of stuff. And the views are the best.

We have stayed in many condos in a variety of locations. This condo is what we typically expect. It has everything we needed, dishes, linens, towels, etc. We appreciated the washer and dryer to refresh some of our clothes. They also threw in some extras like beach chairs, toys, boogie boards, coolers and a nice cart to get all the stuff back and forth. This unit has it all, almost. We forgot to buy napkins.

What made this condo great for us, parents with 2 young children, were the gounds around the condo. It has a wonderful swimming pool and playground that are in the sun most of the day. Our children loved being able to swim in the pool and play on the playground and then go to the beach to build sand castles and splash in the water. The ocean is a bit rough in front of the condo, although our kids were able to play in the water close to shore. You can walk to some areas that are calmer or drive to Luquillo Beach, pay $3, and enjoy much calmer waters. The walk from this condo to Luquillo beach is too long for a 3 and 6 year old.

The balcony is wonderful to sit and enjoy a drink when we finally got the children down to sleep.

One note, the waves are loud, much louder than we expected. We love sleeping to that sound but lighter sleepers might have a problems

It is also close to El Yunque, restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies and everything else you need or want.

We would recommend this unit to anyone with children. We truly enjoyed are stay and are already planning our trip for 2010.

To comment on some previous reviews, we found the unit clean and not worn. We did not interact with many 'locals' but we did enjoy the talks with all the snow birds we met. Many people from the States winter down here and have activities throughout their stay.
