Good location Great view, condo run down

The location of the condo is a little out of the way if you don't have a car but we managed to get around this with the bus services and taxis.
The Hotel the condo is located in is under going renovation but that did not impact us, and it is a very quiet part of Waikiki. The hotel pool was not big and fancy but very clean and had an early morning adults only time. The sunsets from the Lanai are amazing.
The condo itself is in need of a serious renovation, furniture was adequate, the bed was very comfortable but the electical appliances especially the stove where not good. The kitchen and bathroom has not been updated in a long time and it is badly needed. I guess in comparison it was not as expensive to rent as some of the others in the building and some certainy did not have the great view you get.
The airconditioning was good and the ceiling fan very welcome, there was plenty of towels and kitchen utnesils, just not a lot of matching sets. I would recommend this condo to a couple who are not looking for the latest and greatest facilities just a nice place to stay with a fantastic view.
Owner's Response: The Ilikai is at the beginning of Waikiki and located next door to Hilton Hawaiian Village. There is a bus stop on the corner and taxi service at the hotel. It is a 10 minute to walk to Ala Moana Shopping Center or Waikiki Beach Walk. In 15 minutes you can walk from the Ilikai to all major hotels along the waterfront. Major tourist attractions like Pearl Harbor, North Shore, and Haunama Bay will require a car, bus ride or tour.
The hotel next to the Ilikai is being remodeled and will open as a 5 Star Boutique Marriott in January; I am not aware of any construction at the Ilikai itself.
This condo was renovated in 2007. There is a fully tiled shower and linen closet in the bathroom. All linens are replaced twice a year- new sheets and 6 sets of matching towels. The furniture is Hawaiian style- rattan with sleeper sofa, loveseat, coffee tables, end tables and 2 person dinette table.
The kitchen has been remodeled to offer an unobstructed ocean and sunset view. There is a new, mid size refrigerator, and all appliances, utensils, pots and pans are 2 years old. The stove is not new.
The condo is equipped to help you enjoy your vacation~ from martini, margarita and champagne glasses to platters for serving pu-pu's (Hawaiian for appetizers). There is a pub height patio table with 4 swivel chairs to ensure you do not miss the beautiful unobstructed sunsets.
This is a private condo. We make every effort to ensure that it is in perfect condition and we always appreciate guests who care for our condo as if it were their own.
The Ilikai offers the best views in all of Waikiki. There are no buildings to block the sunsets and the city lights on the water are stunning, making the Ilikai one of the best values in Waikiki. Particularly when compared to a hotel room at the Hilton Hawaiian Village or the Royal Hawaiian- priced at over $300.00 per night
We make every effort to provide our guests with the foundation for a great vacation and encourage our guests to contact us with any issues.
