Newly refurbished 2 bed apt ground floor, with back garden , air conditioned, TV in each room and living room, phone for local use, beside 2nd Ave. bus route which runs all the way to lower Manhattan, and 5 min from subway connections. The apt is on the ground floor, a garden to the rear is suitable for smokers as the apt is non smoking. All people from all places are welcome and we hope you enjoy your stay in the Big Apple, anything we can do to help you while you are here please let us know. On your first night we leave chilled bottled water in the fridge and milk should you need to make tea/coffee. In the bathroom you will find shampoo and hair conditioner, and towels etc,. When you are sure of you dates e mail me , and I will get back to you quickly.

  • Each room has its own plasma TV and separate air conditioning/ heating unit. The rear room opens to a private back garden which is ideal for smokers, as the apartment is a no smoking area. The rooms have a phone for local use, but with the use of a phone card you can make international calls. The apartment is very quiet , and the bedrooms are to the rear of the building, the toilet is in between both bedrooms. The living room is at the front and and has a pull out bed sofa, which can sleep two people. The kitchen is equipped with all utensils, fridge, cooker, stove, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, etc. We also give you the option to pay in sterling or euro. , the opposite apt on the same floor can also be rented for larger groups with the shared back garden.

We will soon have another apartment, fully refurbished, in the same building on the ground floor. They will both share a back garden. This will suit if two families wish to book and be together in the one building. Also, we will be able to provide parking in a parking lot on the same block. This new second apartment will also have high speed internet, and all the comforts of this apartment. Both are on the ground floor. We will be making another listing, so groups of 8 to 12 persons can apply.

What a great place for a first stay in N.Y.C. My wife & I stayed there with friends. Please read and believe all previous comments on this safe & secure apartment, owners , area and local people. Making the reservation was easy, Rose the owner was there to meet us, the fridge was full, the bedrooms and lounge comfortable, back garden to relax in for the last hour or so each evening .. it just goes on! Advice on using yellow cabs from JFK was correct --- $45 plus $5 toll fees ( same with Harlem cabs going back ). Bus stop and underground nearby. Buy a $7.50 all day pass at the underground station to use either underground or bus otherwise it's $2.00 a single trip. Rose - I can now recommend the local Indian restaurant / take-away around the corner on 3rd.

One word, Superb. Lovely appartment and WiFi a big bonus for the kids.
John there to meet us despite a delayed flight and very helpful throughout our stay.
Surprisingly well stocked cupboards/fridge on arrival
and beds very comfortable.
Good location for Manhatten. Ignore any pre-conceived conceptions of Harlem, we regularly returned in the early hours without any problem.
For those not wishing to pay hotel prices or use hotels full stop, I could not recommend this appartment highly enough

Lots of Space

We loved this apt ,, it had lots of space and it was cool to relax in the back garden after all the down town shopping ,
When we arrived the fridge was well stocked , phone for local use was great for ordering in food on our lazy nights,
The hosts were able to recommend good restauants.
The internet was usefull, and cable tv for my sports and news .
My wife loved it , got her hair and nails done on the same block ,, safe secure building , and close to subway at 116 on lexington ,, we will be back . Frank Golden Dublin

Wonderful home base for visiting New York

Wonderful hosts – made us feel very welcome. The partially stocked fridge and cupboards were a wonderful surprise after a long day traveling. Despite our flights being delayed, John was there to greet us and was very gracious (especially considering the late hour!).

Excellent access to subway lines that take you into the heart of Manhattan in minutes. A 5 minute walk then 10 minutes by train to Grand Central Station and beyond.

The area is a little rough compared to where we are from, but there were no issues whatsoever with the locals and the building security is very good.

Suite was very clean, nicely furnished and serviceable. Plenty of linens, storage space, dishes etc. made our stay very comfortable.

Local phone line and high speed internet connection were a real plus.

Master bedroom bed frame is an antique and squeaks somewhat – did not bother me, but my partner found it disruptive.

With that one small negative and a long list of positives, I would definitely recommend this apartment to others looking for good value and a great home away from home in New York!
