Troutdale House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)
This beautifully decorated log cabin is located on a rural mountaintop and surrounded by forests, laurel thickets, and many varieties of wildlife. Enjoy many outdoors activities such as hiking the Appalachian Trail, exploring the wild horse colonies of Grayson Highlands State Park (called the 'sweetest miles of the AT [Appalachian Trail]' by Backpacker Magazine, August 2007), or taking a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are stocked trout streams and many historical places in the surrounding areas to explore.
The kitchen is well equipped and all linens are provided. Relax on the big wrap around porches as dusk falls or as the sun rises over the crest and enjoy nature at its finest as the turkeys fly over the ridge, or the deer emerge from their resting places in the laurels. Don't forget your camera!

About Dianne Johnston
My sister and I live in two distant cities in North Carolina. We have always been great friends growing up, but owning this house together has made us even closer.
We hope this house will bring your and your family closer together too.
Why Dianne Johnston chose Troutdale
My sister and I inherited this house from my mom and dad not long after they built it.
We have some great family memories of this log cabin retreat, and hope you will soon too!
What makes this house unique
It is wonderful to get away from it all. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of urban life, this is the place to come to rest and restore your soul. Our guests often tell us it is one of the most refreshing vacations they have ever had. We know it will be the same for you.
Guestbook comments from the manager
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your wonderful cabin! We have had a wonderful time visiting Damascus and doing the Virginia Creeper Trail as well as seeing the wild ponies at Grayson Highlands! It was nice to come “home” in the evening and unwind, watch TV, play games, and spend quality family time. We also appreciated the responsiveness by you and the property managers with the heat issue the first night. Thank you again for allowing us to stay in your home! We had a great time!
