Exceeded All Expectations!!

At the height of the Cooperstown summer baseball season, just when I thought all of the rentals in Cooperstown had been booked or were not suitable for the amount of people I had, I had stumbled upon this gem of a house. The picture on the website looked too good to be true, yet this 4500 sq. ft. log-style getaway was even more astounding when I saw it first-hand. It is a little difficult to find since it is set deep into the woods of a quaint little neighborhood off of a very narrow and windy road (be careful of deer crossing). But when you pull up, the magnificence of it really hits you by surprise. The completely secluded property is comprised of two compounds; a main house and another guest house which I didn’t have the chance to see since the main house had more than enough space to accommodate us. Both houses overlook the beautiful and tranquil Glimmerglass Lake, and the huge bay windows framed it as pretty as a picture. The décor was very tasteful and inviting. There is a huge stone fireplace in the middle of the house with plenty of comfy seating all around it. The downstairs was the “kids” room, this is where I spent many hours playing foosball and watching TV on the huge flat screen. The stereo system played music throughout the house and outside on the lengthy back porch. Besides the house, there are plenty of opportunities for recreation just outside the doorstep. There is a BBQ, a fire pit, and a private dock stocked with free kayaks and canoes all a hop/skip away. Bill (the owner) was extremely accommodating and easy to deal with. He also referred us to one of his neighbors who does pontoon boat rentals, which we took full advantage of and was one of the highlights of our getaway so be sure to ask about this great option.

With more comfy beds than I could count, inside immaculately clean bedrooms, I found it hard to decide where to sleep. All of the bedrooms have amazing views. Waking up to such beauty makes you want to get up bright and early and do it all again.

Thanks again so much for this wonderfully memorable experience, hopefully Ill see you again this summer!

Cooperstown 50th Bday

Just a quick follow-up note regarding the stay at your home for my 50th celebration. Needless to say the weather was picture perfect, and your home was the perfect setting for the weekend getaway. I had friends and family visiting from the area as well as Massachussetts, California, and Rhode Island. The house was a great place for the cookout and party as well as a place for friends to gather at night and sit around the fire to talk about old times and create new memories. It's also great to be close to Cooperstown as a group of us played the Leatherstocking golf course while the rest visited the museums and did some shopping in the village.

Thanks again for providing such a great home where we could hold this very special event ............. and in case you didn't know, the water in April is freezing!! Glad there was hot water and cold beer following the birthday swim!

Dear Liz & Bill -

I'm writing to let you know how very pleased we were
with our stay at your beautiful house on Lake Otsego.

As we drove down the drive to get to the property,
the vista opened up, and the view exceeded our expectations from what we'd seen on line. The house is beautifully situated on the property: private, tranquil, and both grand and intimate at the same time.

We were also very happy with the condition of the property,
having rented other homes that were not very well maintained and/or didn't meet our expectations. Yours was very clean, welcoming, and perfectly comfortable.

Having a private dock and access to the lake with canoes and kayaks at our disposal was a bonus as well!

Again, thank you for keeping such a well-maintained home and for making it available to those who would like to experience the magic of Cooperstown and Lake Otsego.

You have a little piece of paradise, and we were happy to
have been able to enjoy it for a few days.

I just wanted to follow up with you about our visit to your home. We had such a restful visit. It was exactly what we needed. The setting is just gorgeous, and your home is very comfortable. Another wonderful and truly relaxing get-away to your beautiful log home in historic Cooperstown! One may believe that Cooperstown is all about baseball, but on each trip we have discovered so much more.
This summer our family began our days by strolling through the quaint downtown of the village. We always enjoy picking up a new baseball item or knick-knack to add to the home collections. Personally, I really love to get to the farmers market right in the center of the village.
The afternoons exploded with fun in the sun on the beautiful glimmerglass lake. Swimming, kayaking and setting off in the rented pontoon boat are memories that we will all treasure.
In the evenings we roasted marshmallows at the bonfire pit and then cozied up in the big chairs while the family fooz-ball tournament continued from the night before!
Your beautifully decorated and inviting home made us feel that we were miles away. The amenities and conveniences of the home it easy to enjoy each moment of our trip.
Thanks again for sharing your spectacular home!
