The Little Lagoon and Your Private Pier !:
The Little Lagoon is 9 miles long and over a mile wide. We are at the midway point across from the Pass that goes into the Gulf of Mexico. That makes the fishing and crabbing great right off the end of your own private 180 ft pier. This new pier can accommodate up to a 24 ft boat and four wave runners. It also has two large decks and a picnic table that can accommodate most activities. The water it is about waste deep at the end of the pier. About 120 yards from the end of the pier the water depth goes from about 4 ft to about 20 ft. (There is a new public boat launch about a mile east from the house.)
Screened In Area Under The House ! :
The Little Red House has a large screened in area under the house. This area can be used to entertain, barbecue, play games, listen to music and to lay around and do absolutely nothing. From the Fall to early Spring we have a fire pit in this area. It's really great for cool winter nights!
Things To Do In And Around Gulf Shores !:
The best thing about staying at The Little Red House is you don't have to go anywhere to thoroughly enjoy yourself! But if you feel the urge to get out, here are some of the most popular things to do. For the kids, young an old, there is Waterville USA with water rides, slides and roller coasters. There are a number of amusement parks with everything from putt-putt to bungee jumping. The Historical Fort Morgan and Museum is about 20 minutes away and houses a lot of Civil War history and relics. While at Fort Morgan you can catch the ferry (for cars and people, no RVs ) over to Dauphin Island and see the Dauphin Island Sea Lab and Fort Gaines. One of the biggest attractions in southern Alabama is The Battleship U.S.S.Alabama and Museum, it's spectacular!
The Wharf at Orange Beach is about 15 minutes from the house. The Wharf has several nice shops and eateries. It also has The Amphitheater that draws a lot of super stars.
