Corfu Town:
This fascinating town is a product of centuries of influence by various cultures, Ancient Greek, Roman, Angevin, Byzantine, Venetian, French, British &, last but not least, modern Greek. Our villa is six miles from this cornucopia of history. Walk amongst faded Venetian edifices, haggle in the Jewish quarter, climb the massive fortifications, stroll along the French elegance of the Liston whilst watching a cricket match on the green, a heritage of the British. Barge through the crowded modern market or admire one of the many beautiful ornate churches. At night the ethnic disco strip is a must for party-goers and the shimmering lights of a hundred restaurants draw you in. Corfiots are justifiably proud of their catering. Food is prepared and cooked on the premises using only organic produce; no G-M junk here! There is virtually no crime on the island; the very old and very young wander around in safety at any hour of day or night.
Beaches and Countryside:
Despite Corfu being a well-known and popular destination, there are still many quiet and unspoilt beaches awaiting the discerning visitor. Some of these are accessible more easily by boat, a splendid way to build up an enormous appetite before disembarking for a private picnic or lunch at family-run tavernas serving excellent Greek fare, including wine, at reasonable prices. For the adventurous there are caves to explore.
Beaches are extremely varied, some offering watersports including windsurfing, hang-gliding, scuba diving, fishing, water skiing, banana boats, jet-skis etc., others safe bathing for little ones, yet others fiercer elements.
Hire a car; we can arrange that. Stop in a mountain village to admire the spectacular scenery whilst sampling the delicacies of the local taverna including their vintage.
Our villa is right in the centre of the island. All facilities are within easy walking distance or only a short drive or bus-journey away.
Golf:
The villas are only five kilometres from Corfu Golf Club, reckoned by many to be one of the finest around the Mediterranean.
