Always June By the Sea Post Ike

We have been visiting Galveston since about 1968 because it is a resonable drive from the Dallas area. For the past eleven yearswe have taken the family, which includes our two sons and ther families with use. (sleeps 12 very comfortably) It's easy to get to and begin your vacation a.s.a.p. The price is right and Cathy is very easy to work with and extremely helpful. We had not trouble finding the house, and there is ample room for parking our three cars. The house is clean and easy to maintain. It looks great, but it is planned for families, and we didn't have to worry about the kiddos tearing things up. When we first began going, we stayed in hotels (where we had to cross the main road to get to the beach, ugh!) or in condos which are but a little better. When we finally found Always June, we were delighted. The beach is right in back of the house, and it is quite lovely. The views of sunrises and sunsets are beautiful, especially the master bedroom. .We have never been more comfortable in four bedrooms, living and dining areas. The owners have provided for all of our needs including games, toys, and a great room with two sets of bunk beds for the kiddos. They just love sleeping together on vacation. The location is some distance from town; however, there is a great little food store not far down the road which has just everything, and there is a large community pool directly across in the Tarramar Beach area. We simply do not feel the need to go into town. There are plenty of people to see on the beach on the weekends, but the rest of the week is nice and quiet. We can leave our umbrellas up and know they will be there when we return. The new deck under the house that was added this year is terrific. It's cool and comfortable from those wonderful gulf breezes, and we can watch the kiddos from there whether they are flying kites or playing on the beach. The crab hunting on the beach at night with flashlights is something our boys can't wait to do each year. We fish just out back, too. We don't eat out much, but there are several eating places close. Nate's is good, and we have driven in to Michael's Burgers as well. There are a great many things to do on this end of the island if it should rain and we needed to drive into town for more entertainment. The movies are fairly close and Moody Gardens is also easy to get to as well. This is our second year to stay at Always June, and we plan to be return visitors from now on.
