12 PRIVATE ACRES WITH PRISTINE VIEWS OF THE GUNKS

after years of coming up to the Gunks we have finally found the most ideal place to stay.

the house is simply perfect. situated in a private road not far from route 44/55 it is easy to find but quiet and very peaceful. Just a 10-15 minute drive from New Paltz, Minnewaska and Mohonk.

the owners have a stylish yet warm aesthetic giving the interior a well designed comfortable ambiance. there is a good amount of space for sleeping and eating with a few well-sized bathrooms.

I love to cook and found the kitchen very well appointed. there is a huge deck in the beautiful garden with a BBQ and dining bench for alfresco meals.

acres of grounds for the kids to explore.

there is even a lake a short walk from the house where you can boat or swim.

for winter or summer we totally recommend the house. but please don't book it when we want to go! we loved it:)

Charming, beautifully renovated home.Set well back from the quiet road. Great deck with extensive grounds and a walk up into the woods behind. Well supplied (we did have to purchase our own paper towels and, oddly, clothes washer detergent..why?). All else is in place and quite pretty. Quite expensive but has a lot to offer, especially the excellent local lake for quick dips before venturing off to the Gunks, and quality appliances, etc. tho no microwave. Problem: one of the beds is absolutely unsleepable (the one surrounded by the wood frame). The mattress is really not meant for anything that we could tell, being inferior foam, and our son had to switch to the floor. That should be corrected. The sleeping arrangements in the fireplace room are best left to dogs, as there are two giant dog beds but not much else that's good for humans. Two massive dogs patrol the premises. Our pup was nervous ! Owners require hefty security deposit. Pleasant, enthusiastict owners live right next door.Views of the Gunks are seasonal, when there are no leaves! On the whole, we recommend.

The house is located in a very quiet area, at the end of a private lane. We were there in mild winter weather and it was nice and cosy inside (but do turn down the heat at night, or it'll be too hot in the bedrooms). The deck and garden must be wonderful in warmer weather. The kitchen has lots of quality utensils. There's a living-room with a nice woodburning fireplace and a beautiful dining-room. The whole house was very clean. Great stay, we hope to be back soon!
