Charming oceanfront beach house, with your own private deck with ocean access, located on .3 acre 'walled in' tropical garden with security gate. Spectacular ocean views with breathtaking sunsets in front of your porch. Open living room, large eat-in kitchen with full set of pots & pans, sits 6, large master bedroom with air conditioning, king size bed plus luxury sleeper sofa. Additional bedroom, 2 twin size beds, with spectacular ocean view sleeps 2, with air conditioning and full bathroom with access from the garden also. Outdoor shower available. The front porch sits 6 and can be used as dining room. House has telephone and Internet service and cable TV. The property is located in a small local fisherman's village, about 20 minutes drive from the center of Willemstad and about 20 minutes from the International airport Hato. For 2 additional guests we can provide a guest accomodation.

Flamingo watching is located within 10 miles. One of Curacao's main supermarkets is located 4 miles from the property. Shopping at Willemstads Punda shops, watching the 100 year old 'Old Lady' swing bridge open and close for ocean going vessels, visiting the Western Hemesphere's oldest Jewish synagogue can all be done within 20 minutes drive. Blue Bay, the closest private beach resort, is located about 2 miles from the property.

Caribbean living at its best!: This is one of the few (if not only one) private properties on Curacao which is located directly on the Caribbean Sea with private dock and direct access to the water. The property is 'walled in' with a remote electrical gate and private parking for one car on the property's parking lot. For lazy days you can request a full home cooked meal which will be prepared by Selma and delivered at Casa Marise at the time you indicate, for a min fee. Arrangements can be made locally, as many days as you desire. The best housekeeper on the island will meet you upon arrival at the property and will provide you with all details about your 'home away from home' and about the many points of interest of Curacao. Scuba divers and snorkelers paradise: Due to its location, the property is ideal situated for scuba divers and snorkelers. If you prefer your own equipment (equipment can be rented also at Wedervoorts dive shop, within walking minutes) you can make dives from your own private dock. Discover the ocean life at night, night dives are amazing! Do not be surprised to meet the sea turtles and the seahorses!

Dolphin watching: If you are lucky you can watch the dolphins passing within a few hundred feet from your breakfast table. If you are one of the brave ones, you may decide to jump into the water and swim with them. We have had the pleasure to experience this many times.

I wanted to send you some pics and let you know what a wonderful time we had in Curacao. You truly have a beautiful villa and we just can't believe how we lucked out by finding it. I can honestly say if you keep your prices the way they are you will have no problem renting it out. I have already referred a few people to your website who were looking for an out of the way place to dive. We much prefer an island like Curacao to an island like Aruba. I can't stand the resort like atmosphere of such places and just relish in places like Curacao that are spectacularly beautiful and very rich with history. It was great because it was a bit like going to Holland with all the dutch culture! We just loved it.
I have attached pictures that you are welcome to use on your website. We could not believe the sunsets off the porch...they were so beautiful! I love to cook so we spent the majority of the time cooking at night and eating on the porch. We were sure no restaurant could beat the view we had at the house! I know you asked me about any suggestions we had and the only thing I can think of is that a portable fan around the kitchen might off set the heat. However, I realize we were there during the hottest month as Ron told us.
We just loved it and would love to return again! Thanks so much for all the hospitality and for sharing your home with us. We did our best to take care of it and treat it as if it were our own....(I love the white brick with the thick dark wood...just gorgeous!)

Spectacular Home!!!

I found this home on the internet just doing a basic search for rental properties in Curacao. We travel there every year due to the breathtaking scuba diving there. After reading the description of this home, I couldn't believe there was an availability when we were traveling. I didn't know what we were getting ourselves into...the internet can be very deceiving. We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived!!! It was night time so we didn't get to see the view off the back of the home til morning...but what we did see was just AWESOME.
There are two separate bedrooms with their own baths and a pull out sofa bed in the master bedroom. The home is quite large and has a huge landscaped yard. There is a huge living room area and a very large kitchen stocked with everything you need (just like at home). We had 3 people in our group and I know that it says it sleeps 6, however I would only do 6 people if you are really close friends. I would say 2 couples would be good or a family of 6.
The view from the back is absolutely breathtaking!!! and the wildlife is really fun to watch (birds and lizzards).
We dove from the private dock on several occasions and was just amazed at how perfect this place was!! Saw many many wonderful creatures right in our own backyard--the ocean!!
As far as being clean, a cleaning service came 2 times a week, providing us with fresh towels and linens. Make sure you bring your own soap and toilet paper tho. The home is older and needs a bit of work...but it is all part of the charm...it has everything you need to have a fabulous vacation!
We tried many different local food places and were delighted by all. I don't think we had any bad experiences with food or anything else for that matter. The garlic sauce is a must...everyone there makes their own unique sauce so try as many as you can. We really enjoyed The Old Dutch Cafe!!
The owners really make you feel welcome!! It is a wonderful place!
I would go back in a heart beat and am telling all my friends and family for their future travels.
We also had a chance to stay in the guest house which is located on the property. It too was cute and cozy and has everything you need to enjoy your vacation. There is only one downfall....mosquitos!!! Bring bug spray....got quite a few bites.

The Best Rental on the island!

We stayed at Casa Marise over Labor Day 09. I cannot express what a beautiful house this is. The view from the cliff is the best panoramic view I have ever seen in the caribbean. The owners and managers are the most helpful people you could ask for. Daniella is an absolute sweetheart. We arrived without luggage and she even got a prescription called in for me from a local doctor! Far above and beyond what I expected. We dove from the dock many times and they were great dives, We saw a ray right off the bouy and a pod of dolphins swam by during an afternoon dive. The convenience of the dock with the outdoor shower is great, there"s ample space outside to dry your dive gear off, and if you must have an indoor shower there is an outdoor door to the interior bathroom. They provide beachtowels, washer, dryer and a great line dry. You are close enough to everything to be convenient but far enough away to enjoy the relaxation that only a non resort can only provide. The kitchen is fantastic! Open the windows up put on some great music and enjoy preparing a great caribbean meal on you cliff side bbq pit. Buy Off lantern refills at the Centuro Supermarket (we left the lantern it works great!) The supermarket also has great marinated meats just buy some foil pans and charcoal and cook up your own carribean feast on the patio and enjoy at sunset with an amstel bright! We have stayed in Bonaire, Belize and Mexico and this by far was our favourite place yet! Our home away from home! Thank you Marise! We'll be back (hopefully soon.....)

wonderful Curacao vacation house

My two adult daughters and I had the wonderful opportunity to rent this lovely Curacao home for a week recently. Nicely situated in the middle of the island, this large two bedroom house is about a 20 minute drive to Willemstad, a 10 minute drive to a large supermarket, a 20 minute drive to the airport and has easy accessibility to many of the beautiful Curacao beaches by car. The caretaker and housekeeper were very helpful in orienting us to the island and were attentive in repairing damage as a result of a recent serious tropical storm. The kitchen was well appointed with appliances, dishes, pots and pans, the living room large and airy with comfortable furniture and the veranda had a wonderful view of the ocean complete with beautiful tropical birds and iguanas. All of the trees and plants had sustained serious damage due to the storm which was a shame but the location was very lovely despite the weather damage. The bedrooms were air-conditioned at night which was a blessing because there were abundant mosquitos present during the rainy season. Bring mosquito repellent. We had to provide our own soaps for the bathrooms, toilet paper, paper towels, and dish detergent for the house easily attainable at the local grocery store. One can snorkel at the property by climbing down some steps and a ladder and the swimming and lounging in the water was spectacular. The house had some nice little extras such as water floats and "noodles" for relaxing in the water, and a wonderful beach cooler in which we transported our lunches to the beaches every day. One has a sense of privacy and safety at the property and we enjoyed a combination of just relaxing around the property as well as exploring the beaches, and shopping in Willenstad. We did sample the local restaurants but enjoyed cooking our own meals just as well at the house. This vacation property was a very good value and we enjoyed our stay here very much.
