BIDDY'S HILLTOP LODGE, MANISTEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN

Crystal Mountain, Thompsonville Lodge Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps up to 8

Biddy’s Hilltop Lodge is a rustic log lodge with many unique and special features. It is set on top of an exclusive 5 acre hill in Manistee County, Michigan with expansive panoramic views, including Crystal Mountain Resort, fields, meadows, a pond and 1000’s of acres of forest. Every season at the lodge is beautiful and the fall colors are spectacular. Abundant wildlife provides an opportunity to view a large variety of song birds and woodpeckers at established feeders right outside the windows. Watch bald eagles, ospreys and hawks soar at eye level over the meadows below where whitetail deer, wild turkeys and sand hill cranes forage.

Biddy's is family built, owned, and operated: The lodge features:

• True log construction, giant full logs up to 24” in diameter and 50’ long with 2000 square feet of living space.

• Hand crafted custom furniture throughout

• 3.5” think pine log kitchen counters and bar tops with a beautiful recessed rock collection featuring many Petosky and other native Michigan stones.

• Accommodations for up to 10 guests

• Over 500 sq. feet of decks and balconies

• 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, including a large lofted master suite with attached full bath, walk in closet, log bed and covered balcony

• Winding log staircase

• Massive stone fireplace

• Large great room with piano

• Dining room featuring a giant log table with seating or 12 guests.

• Furnished kitchen

The property also features: • Complete privacy and seclusion in a beautiful wooded setting of maple, ash, beech, quaking aspen and red pine.

• Large outdoor area including fire pit and seating.

• 42' large plasma television, with DVD player

• Board games, card games, puzzles and books.

• Gas grill on the deck

• Deck furniture

• Washing machine and dryer

• AM/FM Stereo with CD

**We do recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle during the winter months due to the steep driveway.

'It is the desire of our hearts that friends, family and couples who are guests at Biddy's Lodge truly get away from it all, enjoy the beauty of Gods creation, draw closer together and return home feeling rested and refreshed. So open the windows and listen to the leaves rustle in the wind, enjoy the sounds of song birds, woodpeckers, chipmunks, wild turkeys, nesting cranes and more. Listen to the fire crackle in the fireplace while big snowflakes fall and blanket the country side.'

May God Richly Bless you,

The Thachenkary Family and The Vanderzon family

Beautiful Cabin

  • 5 of 5
You know you are away from city life when the owner of the small town grocery store 4 miles east gives my son a free ice cream and carries our bag of groceries to our car. This is a quiet area and a beautiful cabin. We originally had reservations in Traverse City and so glad we changed our plans. This cabin is off the beaten path but still close to all the scenic areas on Lake Michigan. As far as the cabin itself, the pictures really speak for themselves. Someone put a lot of expertise, love and creativity into the cabin and all the custom furniture when it was built. Hat's off to you.

A lovely quiet week

  • 4 of 5
The cabin is surrounded by trees, with a beautiful view of fields out the back windows. We didn't see or hear a soul for the whole week, and enjoyed the quiet immensely. Nice to have a kitchen to take advantage of the abundance of fresh, delicious produce nearby. The layout of the cabin is open and spacious and there are a lot of odd, charming details--the bath tub set in field stone, the split log staircase. A big reason we took the place was that they allowed pets--our cat really enjoyed himself.

Short & Sweet

We came to visit Traverse City, but there was plenty to do in Manistee. Craft Fair, Beaches, Ice Cream Parlor "House of Flavors", SS Milwaukee and on the list will go. We went for walks on the property and saw wild turkey's. Lot's of mosquito's! We had to leave one day early do to an unplanned family event. We would visit again and stay at "Biddy's" and take the time to visit to Traverse City on a return visit.

Worth the price and very secluded and romantic

  • 5 of 5
This was everything the add said it was and the owner Ted was more than friendly and accommodating making us feel trusted and comfortable. For all those who want to escape for a few days and not be around anyone and enjoy the seclusion and the views.... this is the place to unwind and stop moving so fast for a few days. Unpretentious, quaint, spacious and open is the best way to describe it. We were there in the heart of the one of the coldest winters on record and the snow and setting, being from Michigan and knowing how cold the winter has been, made us enjoy our stay and winter season once again. We're not skiers and at one time were avid snowmobilers which I am sure would be a great place to ride from if so desired. This is a true log cabin and worth the price and drive to get to. I would definitely go back and will be planning to do so in the future just to enjoy the quiet!..... Mike P., East Lansing, MI

Charming get away!

  • 5 of 5
This was the third time our family has stayed in this cabin. We absolutely love the time we spend there! It's a beautiful get-away... peaceful and quiet. We go with the intention of having some down time (i.e. puzzles, reading, relaxing) and there's no better setting than this Hilltop Lodge. It is kept very clean, and always feels like a home-away-from-home. If you're looking for a relaxing place to leave the world behind, there's no where else you'd want to be!

Winter Fun!

  • 4 of 5
This is a wonderful cozy cabin! The views and the fire place are fantastic. We enjoyed working in the kitchen and eating at the big log table. The week we were in Manistee was perfect for cross country skiing and we were out everyday.
