About Margaret

We are a family of 4 with two young children. Laureli Lookout is our only second home and we consider it our home away from home. We want you to consider it your home away from home when you stay there.

Our children were small when we built it, so there are plenty of child friendly features incorporated into the cabin. There are also plenty of hand made/custom crafted features like the spiral staircase, log railing and 100 yr old ceclaimed pine floors. Our goal was to make it cosy and comfortable. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Why Margaret chose Gatlinburg

Our family of 4 has always loved to go to the mountains. When an opportunity came along to purchase a lot, we decided to make th plunge. We are originally from east Tennessee and meet our families there often.

LAURELI LOOKOUT is located between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge in a secluded area about 1.5 miles off Hwy. 321/441. The attractions of the Smokey Mountain National Park, Dollywood, the Arts and Crafts Community and Outlet Shopping are all within 30 minutes. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are within 5 minutes.

The National Park includes, thousands of miles of hiking trails, Clingman's Dome (the highest point in TN), Cade's Cove (an historically preserved settlement from the early 1800's) and swimming in mountain streams.

The Gatlinburg area is rich in craftsmanship. Three of the main areas where the craftsmen show their wears are at Arrowmont in downtown Gatlinburg, the arts and crafts community and Dollywood. The chambers of commerce for Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have calenders of events which include arts and crafts events.

Other Activities: Gatlinburg Aquarium

Ski: OBER GATLINBURG is about a 10 min. drive away. The slopes can be seen in the distance from the front of LAURELI LOOKOUT.

Great cabin!

We recently stayed in this cabin for a sunday school marriage retreat. The cabin had more than enough space for 6 adults. It was very clean and well maintained. The location was perfect and close to all the attractions in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. I would definitely stay at the cabin again and I hope to visit soon!

Sunday School Class retreat

Our Sunday School class had a weekend getaway to Gatlinburg. We stayed in this lovely cabin and couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodation. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the decor is just what you would hope to find in a mountain cabin...complete with antler chandeliers (which my husband was quick to point out and request we have at home :-)).
It was a treat to relax in the hot tub on those cool mornings with a nice cup of coffee and just enjoy the surroundings.
I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a place to stay in Gatlinburg. It's only a short drive from the attractions yet far enough away from the commotion and can truly just relax and enjoy that mountain air!

We really appreciate the spaciousness, cleanliness, and comfort Laureli Lookout offers. We made use of the baby gates for the stairs on our first visit, then by our second trip, our kids were old enough to enjoy the hot tub on the deck with us. We love how our family can spread out but still enjoy the charm and coziness of a private cabin. The location can't be beat. The cabin is close to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the National Park, yet still on a mountain in the woods with a sense of peace and privacy. We love Laureli Lookout and look forward to visiting again for a relaxing vacation in the Smokies.

Quiet Getaway

Our family had such a wonderful time at Laurali Lookout! We stayed at the cabin for three days and two nights. My two young kids(4 & 7), myself, my husband, my step daughter, my dad and a friend of his stayed at the cabin. It's very comfortable, very clean, well kept, decorated nicely, entertaining, easily accessible to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We enjoyed the pool table and the hot tub. The kids loved the hot tub! You get the true feeling of being in the mountains away from the hussle and bussle of Pigeon Forge and the main street of Gatlinburg but still around five minutes away from both places.
Not to mention the owners who were so pleasant and was in contact with us when we needed to get a hold of them. I can't say thank you enough for allowing us to rent their cabin. Our family trip was truly a memorable one that we will cherish for a long time to come.
