Annie never considered becoming an innkeeper before she found Soundview in 2005. It 'came with the territory' and she thought she'd honor the existing reservations to see how she liked it. Yes! It's a fit.
Soundview is a separate guest house about 40 feet away from her own home. Both have the same spectacular view of mountains, islands and Puget Sound. In this quiet, peaceful setting, eagles fly through the tall trees and sailboats and cargo ships parade through the channel below.
Annie Phillips purchased this cottage in 2005
Soundview can be romantic, inspiring, or restorative. It's a home away from home for travelers, honeymooners, birthday or anniversary celebrants, and parents coming to meet the new bride or baby. Soak in the private hot tub, laze in the famously comfy kingsize bed, cook a feast in the complete kitchen or visit one of several excellent local restaurants. It's convenient to the airport and to downtown Seattle - yet amazingly quiet and intimate.
What a wonderful spot! Comfortable bed, great pillows, beautiful view - we loved your personal touches & warm hospitality. When we coe again to see our children we will know where to stay!
While visiting my son and grandson in October, 2014, I had the privilege of staying at the SoundView Cottage. I searched the VRBO website and was very impressed by the pictures of it and the amenities that were offered. Contacting the owner by email was efficient and Annie, the owner, was very forthcoming with all the necessary information.
When I arrived I noticed the SoundView Cottage looked just like the pictures on the website. It was private, clean and had all the comforts of home. The kitchen was impressive with lots of kitchen gadgets, dishes, cookware, towels, dish soap and fresh breakfast foods in the refrigerator. My 12 year old grandson loved the kitchen so much, he made french toast for our breakfast!! There was even a washer and dryer with detergent!
I enjoyed standing on the private deck and looking out onto Puget Sound. Also there was a hot tub on the deck for my enjoyment. Annie is close by to answer any questions and to replenish any items you may need.
SoundView Cottage is truly a "home away from Home." I'm looking forward to staying there again the next time I am visiting Washington.
This cottage is really spectacular, and offers many extra amenities, which you would not normally get in even a luxury hotel. It is private, and offers a view of the Puget Sound. The deck and hot tub is where we ended our day after visiting downtown Seattle, and the surrounding cities. The owner Annie, is very sweet, she gives you your privacy, but is close by if you need something. The refrigerator is stocked with wonderful breakfast foods, and there is a fruit basket that offers a variety of seasonal fruits. All the food was very good and healthy too. The bedroom has a comfy King bed, and has black out blinds, which allows you to sleep in for those late nights. It is centrally located to Seattle & Tacoma, and is only minutes from Seatac airport. If we vacation again in Seattle, we will definitely choose Soundview as our home away from home.
Thank you Annie, for making our stay memorable.

This cottage has everything you need for a relaxing, enjoyable stay. The view is fantastic. On a clear day you can see Mt. Ranier from the kitchen table. The bed is wonderfully comfortable and invites you to sleep in. The cottage is very clean and well appointed with nice extras like a well stocked DVD selection as well as a nice supply of CD's for the sound system. The hot tub on the back deck is a perfect place to relax after a day of sight seeing and exploring.
Perhaps the nicest thing though is the kitchen. It's stocked with plenty of items for making any number of different kinds of breakfast, and the back deck invites you to linger with a cup of coffee or tea in the morning.
Annie, the owner, is an excellent host. Attentive while respecting your privacy and she has a wealth of information about the area. She provided some very nice, special touches during our stay.
Soundview is very convenient to the airport and nearby DesMoines (Anthony's is a great restaurant there) and an easy 15-20 minute drive into Seattle. The light rail station is nearby that takes you right into downtown too.
If we ever get back to Seattle we will definitely be staying at Soundview. Thanks again for a great experience Annie, we had a wonderful stay.
The description of the property is very accurate. The photos are a very good representation of the place, the view is spectacular. The supplies furnished for the morning meals are top of the line items that you can find at Whole Food or Trader Joe. Considering the cost of the hotels in Seattle this rental is very highly recommended . Downtown Seattle is easily accessible (GPS!). We love the owner personal touch in the decoration. For our next trip to Seattle we do not have to look anywhere else! This has the full package.
My husband and I stayed at this private cottage for our 40th wedding anniversary. It was more than the pictures protrayed. Annie was a wonder in assisting us with directions but also allowing us privacy. It was close to the airport and a short ride to Pike Street Market. The property was very well maintained and very quaint. We loved this cottage and would certainly recommend it to our family and friends. Annie, thank you for sharing such a nice cottage with travelers.
