Our century old Caymanian cottage is located on the National Trust's Historical Walking Tour of old Caymanian homes on the sea side of Boggy Sand Road, West Bay, just off the main West Bay Road. The cottage is nestled in ancient seagrape trees at the northern end of world famous Seven Mile Beach and is in a residential area, away from the bustle of the main resort areas. Just off shore are some of the most popular dive sites on the western end of Grand Cayman. There are also shallower reefs for snorkeling with popular Cemetery Reef just a few hundred yards away. For landlubbers, the beach or the deck under the shade of the seagrape trees provide the ideal setting to enjoy a good book and a beverage. Rest and relaxation are guaranteed at this cozy seaside cottage.

Staying put: 'Rest Assured' is a renovated hundred year old Caymanian cottage offering modern amenities for exceptional comfort and convenience. The main bedroom is furnished with an antique four poster mahogany bed, the wood having come from an ancient mahogany forest in Cayman, along with other antique pieces. There is an ensuite bathroom with a large soak/jetted tub and separate shower. The rest of the furnishings in the cottage are tropical casual with local art providing the decor. An extra seating area is easily closed off to create an additional bedroom if needed. Full room sliding glass doors offer unobstructed views to the sea. There is a large porch with ceiling fans but the yard is shaded by ancient seagrape trees creating a cool place to relax either on the deck, in the swing or hammocks. The beach and the water are almost too close for comfort.

Getting out: Within walking distance of Rest Assured is a full service grocery store, gas station, Presbyterian church as well as a small plaza with a bank, medical clinic, sandwich shop, photo shop and Internet service provider. The world famous Boatswains Beach (formerly the Turtle Farm) and Hell are just a short 3 mile drive away. Within the district of West Bay are several well known eating establishments including Ristorante Pappagallo, Cracked Conch, Fisherman's Reef Grill and Calypso Grill, all of which are also only a short drive away.

Relax: Rest Assured offers the ultimate relaxation experience. A private chef, housekeeper and personal massage therapist can be arranged to cater to your personal requirements on advanced notice. This cottage became our home for one wonderful week this past summer and was absolutely perfect for our needs. The home itself was lovely and all we needed for our family of 4. The master bedroom and bath were so nice and I didn't realize the other bath was a full bath until we arrived ~ nice surprise, BUT the BEST part of the whole place was outside. The lanai was a perfect place to have dinner and lunch and the large deck overlooking the ocean could not have been nicer for waking up and drinking coffee every morning. The canoes, the beach, the ocean were all Fabulous and if you like snorkeling, this was the best place to be. Snorkel straight from the beach or canoe out to one of the larger reefs. Beth and her husband were the perfect hosts/landlords and were available to answer any questions. It was a PERFECT place to get away and relax. Will definitely go again!

We absolutely loved this cottage! Great location. Very clean and updated with everything you need. We especially liked the kayak to use to go out to the reefs to snorkle. The owner was very friendly and knowledgable about the area. Great place if you want to get away from the tourist areas but within walking distance to the grocery store. Quiet and relaxing with no TV. We had most meals out on the great patio and deck.
