Completely refurbished in 2005 after Hurricane Charlie, world famous South Seas Resort is a stunningly beautiful beach resort that occupies the entire north end of Captiva Island. This condo is part of South Seas Resort in the Plantation Beach Club, right on the Gulf of Mexico. The backyard is 2 1/2 miles of shell-laden sugar sand beach that seems to go on forever. Sunsets, viewed from the beach, your private lanai or the master bedroom are spectacular exclamation points to days filled with un paralleled shelling, swimming in the sea or the pool just out the door, biking, hiking in the nearby J.N. "Ding" Darling nature preserve, enjoying the shopping and restaurants of Captiva or Sanibel Island or fishing in the gulf.

The condos are continually updated and reflect the tropical paradise that is Captiva Island. The master suite has a king bed that looks out on the Gulf, so you go to sleep and wake to the sound of the waves. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds.

Captiva and Sanibel Island (just to the south across a short bridge) have fantastic shopping. Restaurants abound with a wide variety of options. The islands are very kid friendly, and many restaurants are very casual although romantic evenings are also easy to conjure up.

This Condo will put you in the middle of a perfect island getaway.

My wife and I stayed here for a week vacation with our son (18) in March, 2012. The condo was all as in the description. The owners are very nice and helpful. What is not in the description is that the beach is fantastic and uncrowded and a walk out the door from the condo. Our impression was that there are many nice places to rent in South Seas, but few with the type of beach access that this condo offers. The condo is fine and we bought the resort package which gave us access to the golf course (short but interesting), buses back and forth over the island, and bike rentals, which we enjoyed. It was also nice to have access to the resort restaurants. All in all a great beach vacation and one which we enjoyed a great deal. Highly recommended.
