Golf Details: Massanutten Resort offers two challenging courses for your enjoyment only minutes from Cliffhanger. Mountain Greens is a tight track providing challenges from sloped fairways, mult-shelfed greens and several dog legs. All the while giving you fantastic views of the slopes and Massanutten Mountain.

Woodstone is an executive 18 that provides one of the nicest resort experiences with a shorter course layout. Don't let the fact it is an executive course fool you, there are plenty of challenges including water hazards along the way.

Locally you will find several courses. A favorite or mine and guests is Packsaddle Ridge. A true valley course, you will enjoy the layout, views, and excellent service offered by this facility. Less than 30 minutes from Cliffhanger, you will need to play Packsaddle!

Massanutten Winter Activities: Ski Season is a great time to be at Massanutten! Cliffhanger provides the absolutely best views of the slopes! Wake up and enjoy your morning coffee while watching skiers & boarders alike try their hand at the terrain. 14 trails provide something for beginners to experts. In addition to traditional ski runs, there is a terrain park and snow tubing.

For those who are not hitting the slopes, you can stay in contact by walkie/talkie from Cliffhanger. Watch family and friends come down the slopes from our decks!

Ski: As far as mid-Antlantic skiing goes, Massanutten is a great mountain! With updated snow making capacity in the last year, new express quad chair, and an enhanced park for boarding, no one will get bored! Cliffhanger is close enough to wave to the kids as they come off the intermediate lift and to see the house from the top of the mountain.

Best New Years Ever

We stayed at The Cliffhanger over New Years, and had one of the best New Years weekends ever! It was plenty big enough for our multi-family vacation! Obviously the skiing was awesome. But we absolutely loved our time in the home as well. Having an upstairs family room, and a downstairs family room allowed the kids and parents to both have space when needed, and come together when we wanted. The huge kitchen table was great for our big family dinners, and the bedrooms were so comfortable and spacious! The upstairs loft was bonus space for anyone who wanted to escape for a little! We also enjoyed some nice hiking, and just loved the tranquility and view from high up the mountain. Memories were made that will last a lifetime! I highly recommend The Cliffhanger as a vacation destination!!!

Great Views from this Lovely Home!

We very much enjoyed a relaxing stay at Cliffhanger. The home is clean, decorated beautifully and well-appointed. The view is wonderful. The kitchen is well-stocked, and we appreciated the plentiful towels and the little things like hand soap at every sink, dishwasher detergent, laundry soap, etc. The photos on this site are accurate. I was a bit nervous because this was our first time renting privately. I felt more comfortable after speaking with the owner by phone, and I was glad to learn that they contract with a local company for onsite maintenance issues. This proved helpful when the gas fireplace ran out of gas ~ Wayne arranged for the maintenance folks to come switch the tanks. We rented in between seasons, but our young teens enjoyed tubing, the indoor water park, putt-putt and hiking. I enjoyed the best massage (Joseph) at the spa, and toured JMU with our 16-year-old. It was a great family week. Thanks!

Great Stay at the Cliffhanger!

My husband and I, along with 3 other couples and 3 children recently spent two nights at the Cliffhanger. Everyone really enjoyed the property and all the amenities. The kitchen was fully stocked with cups, plates, utensils and cookware which was such a nice perk! The house itself is very nice, the living room on the main level is very eye catching with high ceilings and one wall of all windows overlooking the wrap around patio with a great view! The place was large enough as well so that the 11 of us did not feel like it was cramped or anything. The kids really enjoyed the loft area up top and spent a lot of time there playing! Wendy (Property Owner) was my main contact and she was always very prompt in getting back to me leading up to our visit every time I emailed her with questions about something or other. Deposit check was also returned very promptly.

House was beautiful. Views were spectacular. Road and parking a bit challenging(very steep), especially after thunderstorm. Well worth it though. Owners nice to work with.
