We spend a long October weekend at Sea Garden. It was our first trip there and it will not be the last. The setting is ideal with the view of the ocean and the short and long walks available from the front door.
The absotutely spotless house has everything you could want. The master beendroon has the most confortable bed and the best view with the hot tub out the bathroom door. This hot tub has the perfect view of the beautiful garden. The kitchen has eveything you need or even think about needing to entertain and cook great meals.
In summary, it is a wonderful place to get away, reflect
As my cancer treatment progressed in late summer and early fall, I realized that I wanted something beautiful to look forward to. My husband and I love Mendocino and selected Sea Garden for its setting, which looked like the perfect spot for some serious R&R after treatment. We couldn't have been more right. Sea Garden is a lovely home in a remarkable setting, offering ocean views, birds galore, deer, the perfect kitchen, solitude, and of course the garden, which was beautiful even in November. Our five-night stay was all we had hoped for. Nearby restaurants are excellent and the Mendocino Botanical Garden in Fort Bragg is not to be missed. My treatment completion date kept changing, effecting our visit dates. But the owner was wonderfully cooperative and easy to work with. We will be back! Can't wait!
My family and I spent 3 nights during the Halloween weekend at this beautiful home for my 40th bday and everything was perfect!
We had such a great time and it was the perfect weekend getaway for us to spend family time. The house itself is clean and beautiful & stocked with kitchen appliances and cookware, so enjoying family meals together was made easy! The location is key, just a short 10 minute drive to the cute Mendocino town and is situated near a cliff that the views were just breathtaking! Every room had such a gorgeous view of the ocean & the hot tub was definitely a nice touch to sit and relax in while taking in the views. We took the owners recommendation to take a quick & easy hike to the Point Cabrillo lighthouse which is worth seeing as well as enjoying throwing the frisbee around nearby Caspar Beach! My young nieces especially loved waking up to find deer wandering around in the yards!! It was truly a very memorable weekend!
Jo, the owner, was especially very responsive and communicative prior to our arrival. Thank you for sharing your lovely home! We cannot wait for the next time to be able to visit this wonderful place! Sea Garden A+.
My three sisters, my husband and nephew (6 of us) spent 4 nights at Sea Garden at the end of August. My husband and I have been to Mendocino numerous times, and it was nice being located between Mendo and Ft. Bragg this time. Great location! We had a wonderful time, and the owners thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. When a last-minute snag came up with our plans, the owners were very accommodating, which we sincerely appreciated! The home was very comfortable, and I haven't slept that well in forever --not sure if it was the cool weather, the sound of the ocean, or the incredibly comfy bed and soft sheets. We had a fantastic time, and my sisters from Texas were blown away by the beautiful views. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone.

Sea Garden was all that we expected and more! Our family had a fantastic time relaxing, and enjoying each other in a beautiful setting without any interruptions from the outside world. Being able to walk right out to the cliff from the back door was wonderful...as was hearing the sea lions bark! That was exactly what we were seeking! We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in June, and our sons wanted to give us a party. We suggested a family escape instead, and they agreed with us.
The weather was beautiful - cool, but sunny! All of us loved that since the Bay Area was suffering from high temps! Of course, we ate our way through the week, but we need to go back to get more of Cowlick’s ice cream! Our granddaughters absolutely loved that! The Botanical Gardens were fabulous with so many dahlias in bloom. I’m sure our granddaughter took a picture of almost every single bloom! Even I got down to the Sea Glass Beach without breaking a leg, or embarrassing myself. We got some great pictures at the tide pools too!
Then there was the evening fun as we played board games until way past my bedtime! Talk about laughter….
I’m sure all of us will remember this vacation! Thanks to you and your generosity to rent your home away from home! We all felt so comfortable, and loved it!
We spent a long weekend here to celebrate our daughter's birthday and it was perfect! We soaked in the hot tub, played board games by the fireplace, watched the whales from the dining room table(!) and took a beautiful walk to the light house. There were breathtaking views from every room of the house as well as decks that were accessible from every bedroom!! Jo is friendly, communicative and responsive. You can tell she has taken great care of this home. We strongly recommend this place and plan on coming back for sure!
