Cabin in Mountains

We loved the location, it was just what we were looking for although we did have a little trouble finding it because we arrived very late ( 11:30 pm ). What was disappointing is that the cabin was not very clean, the toilets, tub and shower needed to be scrubbed and disinfected, I had to take down the shower liner and soak it in bleach because of mold on it, I also washed all of the linens, quite a few had yellowish stains on them and were thrown on a shelf in the closet in disarray. The washing machine is missing the knob to turn it on and the washer and dryer need a good cleaning also as well as the refrigerator, in the cabinet above the washer is a bunch of muddy boots and shoes. More than half of the windows did not have blinds or curtains, so we had to cover them with sheets at night, also not all of them locked. There was no trash receptacle outside. The carpets need to be steam cleaned and the linoleum scrubbed. The kitchen cabinets and drawers need to be wiped out. The cabin has two window air conditioning units that did cool it off once turned on with the help of two fans and along with some air sanitizer got rid of the musty smell. On the outside some of the foliage could be cut back to allow better views. Having the creek right at your back door was very nice as was the light that would shine on it at night, being able to go on the 4-wheeler to the waterfalls was absolutely wonderful, they are beautiful, My husband and father took a nap on the deck overlooking the falls while myself and my mother went exploring. There was a lot of attention given to such things as providing walkie talkies, binoculars, signs and yellow ribbons to follow to waterfalls, plenty of benches, chairs and decks, there was even a first aid kit. In the cabin there were variety of magazines, books, maps and information on the Franklin area that were helpful. Should the cleanliness and window issues be resolved we would all really love to stay again and again. This spot in the mountains is so Gorgeous.
