Come Experience the NC mountains!! Home sits on 16 private acres that backs up to over 1000 national Forest acres. Huckleberry Creek runs crystal clear out of the national forest thru the entire property with 3 large tiered waterfalls a deck and chairs await your relaxation. Located in the breath taking area of Cowee Valley (Gem Capital). Take a meditative hike on private trails that run through the property and along huckleberry creek, or take a national forest trail for a more vigorous hike. If you are just looking to get away, Relax, and melt your stress away look no further. Enjoy the sounds of nature as you sip your morning coffee on the front deck watching the sun rise over the mountains, or a lazy afternoon reading on the shaded side deck surrounded by Mtn laurel and the sounds of Huckleberry Creek below which is spot lighted at night. Rental also includes a Honda 4 trax 4 wheeler for easy adult use to get around the property.

Nearest Airport : Asheville at 80 Miles

12 miles from Downtown Franklin and its many restaurants, antique shops, and Fun zone and within 3 miles to gem mines, trout ponds, and Perry's Watergarden, close to Hwy 28 along the trout fishing little Tennessee river which is a short scenic drive into Nantahalla, Bryson City, Fontana lake, and Cherokee area. Home can not be seen from the road and is at the end of a state rd (Leatherman gap) so it has very little traffic. Extras include, walkie talkies, binoculars, creek shoes, and gold/gem panning screen. Come to Huckleberry Heaven (You'll think you died and went to huckleberry).

Relaxing by the falls is a must!!:

To get to the deck area that sits between the 4 largest falls it is a adventurous hike or 4 wheeler ride thru the creek and laurel tunnels, down through mountain laurel on a well marked path. It is truly like having your own private national park, a great place to spend an afternoon. The water is as pure as creeks get as it is at the top where it come out of the national forest which owns hundreds of acres that surrounds this beautiful and rare property. Cool off by putting your feet in or panning for gold or gems at no extra charge. Experience the fun!!

Thank you to all who enjoyed are property during are 2nd season and thank you for all the wonderful comments. We look forward to serving you and your friends/family in the future. We have many improvements planned for the 10 season including a 8 ft projection home theater. We have upgraded are kitchen with a new sink and resurfaced cabinets and added tunge and groove on the living room walls for the cabin feel,we have much more local/attraction information at the property. We also look forward to accommodating all the new folks who have not yet discovered the memorable, relaxing, and adventurous NC mountain vacation that awaits

Perfect NC mountain getaway

My husband and I have not had so much fun in a long time. We felt like kids on the motor cart with the branches hitting the sides, it was like being on a safari in the mountains and sitting by the falls it felt like our own private paradise. The modular/cabin was nothing spectacular but was comfortable, we arrived to a nice welcome letter, and free (very cute) T shirts. We sat on the side deck in the evenings with a glass of wine watching the lit up creek, we grilled steaks, we roasted marshmellows, and enjoyed the veiws. Thank You it's what we needed

North Carolina Cabin

We were disappointed when we arrived and found that there was a couple still staying at the cabin. They said they had called the owner and he gave them permission to stay another day. When they left and we went into the cabin we had to wash the towels and linens and pick-up. There wasn't any paper products or soaps as advertised. The railings need some repair. We did enjoy the area and the stream. The 4- wheeler was a great addition and the view from the deck was very relaxing. I do not recomend this cabin for some one with small children or seniors because of the drop off near the stream.

Fantastic Vacation!!!!

We stayed in this cabin in April 2009 and had a great time!! The cabin is great and the property was beautiful!!...We arrived on a Thursday evening and stayed until Sunday morning...We loved the trails to the waterfalls and played in the creek....cooked on the bar-b-q everynight we were there...Enjoyed the big movie screen at night to watch movies...We went here after staying at the beach for the first part of the week and when we arrived here and checked the property out we wished we had stayed here our whole vacation!!...We had a great time not only was it relaxing and quiet, we also enjoyed gem mining down the road.. We will return...This is our new vacation spot for awhile!!!

Great Outdoor Vacation

We have stayed at this property two different times. We Love it !!! It is a great outdoor vacation. There is plenty to do.... we love to hike/ride up the mountain ....... sit outside on the side patio and listen to the mountain stream .... walk on the trails .... it is a beautiful place .... I would reccomend it for your next mountain vacation.

Perfect!

This property was exactly what I had hoped for in a real "get-away!" The cabin and the property were perfect- The cabin was very clean, and even though there was record-breakingt heat in Franklin during my stay, the wall AC units kept the cabin cool. There were many very helpful pamphlets provided about the area for me to use. The entire property, including the waterfalls, are the most spectacular experience anyone could ever wish for! This property is extraordinary and I hope to come back soon!!
