A wonderful villa for ANYONE!

We had a stunning week with friends in this spacious and welcoming villa. It really felt like a home away from home with the books and board games, the rooms were immaculate and cool, and the 3 bathrooms were a real luxury.
The real gem of this property is the outdoor space - the patio with table and chairs was perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the double-shallow-ended pool was ideal for a dip after a hot day or a game of improvised volleyball!
The washing machine and second-floor sun terrace meant we were even able to go home with suitcases full of clean clothes, the kitchen was a great size and the living room huge enough to shade from the heat of the midday sun (or have a little siesta in!)
It was ideal for the party we went with (2 couples), as we had a 'wing' each with our own bathroom, but could easily have slept more as we didn't use the third bedroom at all. The house is also wheelchair accessible, which, although we didn't have any wheelchair users, was a welcome change and worthy of note.
The manager, Norbert, deserves an extra special mention for being an all-round brilliant guy as well as giving us copious amounts of local information. The 'welcome package' provided (all the essentials like tea and coffee) made us feel really at home straight away.
We didn't hire a car, opting for taxis and busses instead - due to the villa's rural location a car would have been helpful, but not essential. if we go again, I would hire one to explore the area more, but I didn't feel as though we missed out on it.
Paderne is about a 25 minute walk, a quaint little village with all the essential shops (mini market, greengrocer etc) but taxis to nearby Albufeira were inexpensive (never more than twelve euros) and the large bus station there has services to all of the main towns in the Algarve should you fancy a visit. Fereirras (on the way to Albufeira) had a large supermarket where we stocked up on our food for the week, very reasonably priced compared to the U.K and twice as delicious!
Our highlight was definately Alte, a mountain village about 20 minutes drive away with some of the most stunning scenery I have seen in the Algarve and beautiful pottery shops too.
Overall, this is an ideal rural retreat for families, groups of friends or anyone who needs a bit of rest and relaxation! I can't fault anything with it and would definately recommend it... as long as we're not back there again when you book it!
