Weather, time and water:
Gran Canaria enjoys a spring climate all year round with average annual temperatures that fluctuate between 18 and 25 degrees centigrade. the unusual relief of the island has given rise to a great variety of microclimates within Gran Canaria. While the climate is dry and sunny almost all year round in the coastal regions, particularly in the south, as you move up to higher altitudes the influence of the sea is reduced and the clouds are retained by the mountains. This produces great variations in temperature from the temperate zones of the lower regions or valleys and subtropical forests to the highest zones where the temperature can fall to 0 ?C. It's not too unusual for people to go sunbathing and swimming on the beach and then to find themselves playing around in the snow on the mountain tops just one hour's drive later. The sea is equally as warm with temperatures fluctuating between 18 ?C in the winter months and 22 ?C during the rest of the year.
Medical Care:
High quality medical care, both Private and National, is offered by a wide selection of Clinics and Hospitals. The Canary Islands are not exactly a ‘paradise’ for exotic diseases and the worst you can get is a hangover from too much partying. But be aware of the risks from sunburn, dehydration or insect bites. Medical insurance is strongly advised, even though EU citizens can obtain a refund of most medical costs by using form E111 (available from Health Offices in your country).
Golf:
Golfers can find nine courses on the island all within a 50 kilometre radius. Within a short distance, you can combine several courses in different settings. All of them have been developed by the most prestigious international designers and offer exceptional features for the game. This is why Gran Canaria has become the home of prestigious national and international tournaments over the last few years.
Playing golf in Gran Canaria is more than just playing a sport its an oasis of peace where you can calmly enjoy your game and the good climate.
The nearest Golf course is at Maspalomas (18th Hole) only 3 km away. The golf course of Meloneras is around 3,5 km and Salobre golf at approx 7km distance.

Guest Book:
We have recently returned from a week’s holiday with yourselves which was fantastic. Can you please advise how much it would cost for 3 adults and 2 children from 3rd to 10th April 2006. Presumably we would need two apartments.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sarah
