Great Berkshires Experience

We stayed for a four-day weekend and really enjoyed the visit, and the house added to that. We arrived to find it immaculate. Good start!
The layout is very good with two-car parking that is convenient to the back door for carrying in luggage. You enter a really modern kitchen featuring a nice breakfast bar and an adjacent dining room with a great, big dining room table.
There is a sort of foyer in between there and the living room, and on front of the house a play room/3rd bedroom with fold-down futon. The downstarirs is roomy and comfortable.
The bedrooms are in the eves of the house, so on the edges they are a little short, but it didn't bother the kids at all, who had a great time playing and shared the bedroom with two twins. The master features a king bed, and while closets are out in the hallway, both bedrooms have dressers that offer more than enough storage for a temporary stay.
My wife loved the washer/dryer, and was ecstatic to return home with nothing but clean clothes. The basement was clean and neat and well lit, making the washer/dryer very accessible.
The two full bathrooms were modern and comfortable.
All in all, a very pleasing experience. As for location, I don;t think it can be beat. The house is a two-block walk from Williams College campus and downtown. We strolled - even in the cold - to a local bookstore, some restaurants, and even used the college track for a workout in the mornings.
The location is berkshire central, tucked up in the very Northwestern corner of Massachusetts, minutes from the VT and NY borders, close to some skiing, at the end of the Mohawk Trail (RT-2), and about 30 minutes from Lee's outlet shopping and Lenox's Tanglewood and other cultural sites. But, Willamstown is the place to stay. I don't think there si anywhere else in the area that allows for the same level of local, walking shopping, dining and other activities (i.e., we went to men's and women's basketball and hockey games at Williams College that weekend - all free).
Can't recommend the rental highly enough. This place is obviously the work of a very caring and skilled owner who has put in a lot of work and should take a lot of pride.
