This two bedroom cabin in Keokuk,Iowa sets on a shady hillside over looking the Mississippi river. Has a deck with a gas and a charcoal grill. Fully furnished bath, bedroom, and kitchen. Small frig. toaster, microwave, coffee pot, stove, cooking utensils, linens, dish T.V., air conditioned and heat. Has two bedrooms one with a queen bed and another bedroom with a twin and a full bed. A great place to fish and enjoy the wild life. Is located in Southeast Iowa. Has place to hang your deer and put your hunting equipment and a place to park your boat. One to two Kids welcomed if well supervised.

Enjoyable vacation

My family and I were able to take a very last minute vacation and were able to find this hillside "cabin". To be honest it is like a little cottage. Everything was wonderful. We were able to relax and enjoy our family time together. My small schildren (5 and 6) had a blast! They loved the ducks and chickens. Julie, the owner, had put out two small pools so the girls to run back and forth. It was awesome! AND she also had a trampoline, frisbee golf, sand box, and a swing already on site. She was so nice to accept my children "bugging" her for bread to feed the ducks and chickens. I could not of asked for more customer service. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. The cabin itself could use some updating but overall acceptable. It was a great experience and we hope to return.

nice change of pace

This cabin was just what my busy family needed. The view of the Mississippi River from the deck was beautiful and relaxing. Watching the barges and trains pass by added just enough excitement to keep the kids interested.
The kids also enjoyed the board games that are kept in the living room closet. We discovered MANY disc golf courses in the area. Purchasing a set might be a good idea if your family enjoys that type of thing.
Our 13 year old son found the couch to be very comfortable. There was a nice bed for him, but he chose the couch. It is a perfect set up for a family of 4.

Highly Recommended. A very clean well maintained cabin in a beautiful setting and area with all the comforts of home. The owners are very accommodating. Loved the ducks wondering about. Close to area site seeing and shopping but still a country setting. In Julies own words "The door is open keys on the table walk right in and make yourself at home!" We are planning another trip down there in the fall and it is very likely to become a annual road trip. Thanks for a great time Julie!!!!!

The view of the Mississippi is great! The gardens on the property were beautiful as well - in addition to the various feathered friends who frequent the property. We were within a bike ride of downtown Keokuk and within a short driving distance of Nauvoo, IL. While the cabin is not a 5 star hotel, it is very well kept up and cute. Also the owner is so obliging and accomodating, we had no problems with anything!!

Liked having our own kitchen. Cute house and very well taken care of. Loved the ducks and chickens! Cute pond out front w/ frogs and fish. The owners live on the property, so they are accessible.
We were able to see the beautiful Mississippi river.
It was close to Nauvoo & Carthage, which was where we were sightseeing.
