Sun, Sand, Sea... Our home offers great views from every room of the ocean, jungle and village. Sea breezes waft over you while you sleep in comfortable beds, with great linens.
Nestled on a quiet hillside, Casa Cuiza overlooks the north end of the small town of Sayulita and the Pacific Ocean. Named after the geckos found here, this Casa is unique with its playful colors and hand carved pineapples in all the wooden doors and windows. The spacious kitchen with its long curved kitchen counter and island in typical mexican tile, has everything you need to make cooking a delight. The kitchen and living room are open creating plenty of space for families and get-togethers. The two couches in the living area can double as extra single beds. In addition to wireless internet, there are an assortment of books, cd’s, a small stereo and dvd player to enjoy during your stay
Giving to the L-shape of Casa Cuiza, both the living, kitchen, and downstairs bedroom, extend through large double doors and covered terraces to a centered beautiful lawn, tropical garden, and pool area. The house has three bedrooms, two upstairs and one downstairs. Upstairs the master bedroom, with a king sized bed, is in a spacious circular room with high domed roof. Attached to the master bedroom is a large terrace that overlooks the garden, pool and the amazing pacific ocean. Guests have enjoyed the terrace for yoga, romantic dinners and even a private salsa class or two. The other 2 bedrooms, one upstairs and one down, have Queen sized beds.
The most prominent feature of Cuiza is it’s large private garden and lap pool. Tropical plants line a large grassy yard from which one can enjoy the view. The pool is ready for laps, or just to cool off.
It's only a 5 minute walk to both beach and town. A shared private driveway allows for parking.
My expert management team will make sure you have a wonderful vacation.
My family stayed at this beautiful home for a family reunion to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. We were awestruck at
the beauty, spaciousness, location, and cleanliness of the home and property. The furnishings were colorful, tasteful, and
so supportive to our week in this beautiful, quaint town. I whole heartedly recommend this as a perfect place for vacationing.
We loved our stay at Casa Cuiza. What a wonderful place!! A combination of quiet, convenient, clean, spacious, lovely Mexican decor, and a lap swimmer's paradise--overall a lovely spot, perfect for our family of 4 (with 2 teens). We most definately plan to return!! Thank you!
This the second time I was there with family members and we had a great vacation. The house is beautifully maintained with many noticable upgrades. The fully equiped kitchen and BBQ made meal prepartion very easy. we loved the outside garden and pool area and are looking forward to a return visit.
We just got back from five days in Sayulita last night and while Casa Cuiza is charming we feel somewhat let down by the fact that the otherwise friendly and easy to deal with landlady did not advise us at the time of booking back in January that the 'Semana Santa' or Holy week around the Easter weekend is the time you really do not want to be in Sayulita. Of course, there is no obligation to tell renters about this but then again I think even an anonymous hotel reservationist would feel pity on future guests and let them know...(our taxi driver told us he leaves Sayulita every year for this particular week and moves in with his father in another town so he can actually sleep).
To sum it up: We barely slept at all during our stay - the music was pumping throughout the town until the early morning hours (6am one wild night), we came with kids so obviously did not come for the rave on the beach or any of the other dozen parties going on simultaneously. We were advised to buy earplugs by the property manager which we did, but that helps little when the party seems to be happening in your front yard judging by the noise levels. The town was overrun by some 10.000 tourists, the beach was so packed there was barely a yard between you and your neighbor and the water seemed so dirty and crowded (my husband actually caught an ear infection and both my little girls started throwing up on the 3rd day - I assume the reason being that they swallowed water trying to boogie board...). The highlight was the pool in the garden, just to have some peace and quiet but unfortunately the next door property is a building site so the hammering and sawing starts around 8am there.
Generally if you are coming with kids or older people in your party, make sure you rent a golf cart as the climb up to the house can be tough after the beach and with the heat. The TV did not work (emailed management but reply only 2 days later when we were leaving - it was the weekend though so not their fault) and I missed some cushions for the loungers around the pool and the outdoor wrought iron chairs to make it more comfortable. Otherwise the house really is lovely (just not with a building site next door or during Semana Santa!).
Loved staying in this well looked after hacienda. With its traditional Mexican furnishings, it really does feel as if you are in Old Mexico on a private estate. Great yard, and the lap pool was a treat in the heat. Best happy hour ocean views are from the large 2nd floor patio (although the courtyard venue works just fine too!) The thoughtful owners leave a bottle of tequila, a margarita recipe, and a bar blender on the counter. Made us feel right at home. The beaches are just a short stroll away, and the town offers all sorts of temptations. Thank you, Bette, for recommending a Mexican cooking lesson from Sophia the Chef. Overall a great stay.
This was my 3rd time to Sayulita. This property is located in such a convenient location to town. It has beautiful views, is quiet and the property itself is top notch. The property was clean and had everything we needed. The views were incredible and the area is quiet and peaceful. It is close enough to get everything you need from town in a walk, and far enough that you feel as you are in a private area. This would be an amazing place for families and larger parties. The service was also amazing from the owner and property management company. Thanks for an amazing stay and we will return fear certain.
Wow, this place is like having won a jackpot without the tax implications! A real jewel nestled just a short walk from the best swimming spot on the bay and an even shorter walk into town. Casa Cuiza indulges the senses from wonderful vistas, a well maintained tropical garden to an eclectically decorated Mexican home that has all the modern amenities for a completely relaxing stay. It even came with a bottle of Tequila that seemed to mix very well with fresh lime juice to get into the local spirit without delay. I am not surprised that there the clientele return here regularly.
PS: Be sure to go some of the local hikes through local neighbourhoods, jungles and rivers often ending back on the beach. A great way to start the day!
