This is a large 15Th Century Villa which has been renovated with a great deal of love, care, and style by the Designer owner. The Villa is finished to a luxurious standard, and boasts antiques, beautiful pictures, and quality fabrics. There are two living rooms - one very formal & the other a cosy 'snug'. The bathrooms are luxuriously furnished in travertine marble with a Roman influence.

The immaculate garden immediately outside the house is of a formal ‘Roman’ style, and there is plenty of space for eating al fresco and enjoying the views of the surrounding mountains.

The Villa also boasts a large swimming pool from where it is possible to totally relax, listening to the sounds of the river flowing nearby.

This elegant retreat is set only 3km from the market town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, where there is a good variety of shops, restaurants and bars, and also a famous Thursday morning market.

A sense of space, calm and tranquillity pervades this villa.

The Villa is situated high in the hills in the green, mountainous and unspoilt Garfagnana valley, just 3km from the mediaeval market town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana with its shops, restaurants, bars, and famous Thursday morning market as well as a train station for stress free exploring. The grounds to the Villa are immaculate, and boast wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

The property is under one hour from Lucca, around one hour to the seaside and 85 minutes from the walled City of Lucca (voted best Italian City 2004); 1 hr 3/4 from Florence and only 15 minutes from the mediaeval town of Barga with its ancient architecture, windy cobbled streets and good quality restaurants.

Best of all is the countryside, the walking, the hillside villages, and the endless opportunities to meander and picnic.
