The owner informed prior to booking that the studio was up a staircase street. We were on an international trip and would be carrying 4 check in bags plus cabin luggage. She assured that the taxi driver known to her would help in transport from airport and also get the bags right upto the apartment.
It rained heavily and our flight was delayed by 3 hours. So we land at SFO airport at 1 in the night. The taxi guy sent another driver. Turns out that this driver had never seen the apartment before. However somehow we reached the building. He did help with the bags partly up the staircased street, but that was it. He left promptly.
It was almost 2 AM and raining and we peered at the building. The booked apartment was #37A. The numbers on the front said: 37 and 39. No 37A. We were supposed to find the keys there. There were none. We went upstairs two floors and found keys to the top apartment. So we lugged the bags up the stairs and entered the apartment. It was a bigger apartment. We found that the bed wasn't made. Anyways we got maybe 3 hours sleep. The owner turned up in the morning and told us, we were in the wrong apartment though she was the owner of this one too. 37A was on the ground floor but it was in the back of the building! It was down a corridor and we couldn't see it at night. We were asked to shift down to 37A. So again lugging the luggage down! And my wife has a back problem too.
I had come to SFO to attend a medical conference and planned to be at the conference from 8 to 12 noon on the fifth and final day. Our return flight was at 4 PM. The owner insists that I vacate by the specified checkout time of 11 AM. I suggest that we will pack our bags and leave them in a corner and pick them up around noon. No way, she said. The cleaning guys cannot wait and all our stuff needs to be out. She suggests that we check our bags with the Fairmont in the morning. I was sure the Fairmont wont check in bags of guys who weren't staying with them. She said I try different hotels in the neighborhood for this. So I cancel my meeting schedule and take my bags to the airport at 11AM and wait 41/2 hours for the flight.
The studio itself is very good, with top class furnishing and toiletries. There is no view from the studio. If u need a view book the 1BR on the top floor. The owner can be contacted only on email. No cell phone. Her office phone available only during working hours.
Stay here if you have less bags, arrive in daytime and leave in morning.
This is a great, small little studio in a very centrally located part of San Francisco. Despite limited space, the studio is arranged well, with a nice kitchen and great space to eat. Would absolutely recommend for couples or solo travelers.
This studio is awesome in every way. It's in a perfect location, on a beautiful quiet street. It has an incredibly inviting, warm feeling but is modern and fun at the same time. We really enjoyed waking up in the morning and peeking through the trees to the view of the Museum of Natural Science and the Golden Gate Bridge. Everything we needed was there, and Patricia was so accomodating and nice. Walking up to the door gives the feeling of being on vacation in a small village in Italy. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone seeking a quiet romantic weekend away. Thank you Patricia!
I just returned home from staying in the great apt. in Nob Hill for 16 nights. Great location, you can even pick up the trolley right outside the door into downtown. On a clear day you can even see the golden gate bridge from the window by the bed!
Fantastic little place in a great location. Close to transport, cable car stop out the front and close proximity to lots of nice cafe's and markets. Lovely view.Would highly reccommend!
