Sawyer Vacation Rental estate

Our family of 6 just spent the long holiday weekend at Flynn Farms. I can say with certainty that we will return. The home has been updated with all modern amenities and wonderful decor, but still holds its charm as an old farm house. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and allow moments of solitude. We enjoyed the blueberries picked right off of the bushes - they were the best I have ever tasted. The property is charming with little surprises like an antique caboose, an old tractor, a fenced in dog run, and a private little porch off of the master bedroom where I enjoyed reading and having my coffee. The kids enjoyed learning to sand board down Warren Dunes. We loved Pablo's Cafe (Latin food) and Gulistan's (Kurdish food). The weather was perfect so we got to spend a lot of time outside - including a night around the fire pit. Our dog loved running around the large property. Warren Dunes is only 10 minutes away, with its beach and hiking.

Our only issues were the pool was not heated while we were there and the yard and pool maintenance was going on while we were trying to relax and get away from the reality of our lives. However, that maintenance has to happen sometime, so it was probably unavoidable on the owners part. I would highly recommend a hot tub for fall months!

Overall, this was a fantastic place for a peaceful retreat. We hope to return with some of our friends for a couples weekend getaway.

Our entire family gathered at Flynn Farms for a week of fun and relaxation - we were not disappointed! We had three generations - including our two grandsons, ages 16 months and 2 1/2 years.
The boys loved playing in the caboose - the oldest one would climb the steps and shout ""All Aboard! Choo, Choo!" and the little one would just giggle with glee.
We enjoyed evening campfires at the fire pit or cozy fires by the fireplace in the family room. There was plenty of wood provided. We also enjoyed grilling almost every night and if it was warm enough, we ate outside on the patio - surrounded by the beauty of this perfect setting in the woods.
We were there in early June so the weather was cool, but we still managed to take advantage of the heated pool and pool house on several occasions. We also enjoyed daily walks on the property or surrounding areas.
We took short day trips to the Children's Museum, Warren Dunes State Park, and Washington Park Zoo. All of these attractions were less than 30 minutes away.
The house was the perfect size for us with 6 adults and two toddlers. We had plenty of room to all gather together for meals or games, yet there were spots for quiet solitude if desired.
The only drawback for us was that the third bedroom had a double bed, not a queen. We knew this ahead of time, but what we weren't counting on was that neither one of the boys would sleep in the kids room (which was adorable, by the way!). So mama and papa bears had to share their beds with the baby bears - not easy with a double bed. I think one papa bear ended up in the kids room - which he said was very comfortable!
We brought along old home movies to watch with the vcr player and a murder mystery game to enjoy by the fireplace - great memories!
The accomadations were great, and if we needed anything, a quick call to Kim would soon provide us with what we needed. Local farmers markets and grocery stores provided us with everything we needed to prepare our meals.
Kim and her husband were friendly and helpful from the beginning of our planning. The home and property were very neat and clean. We highly recommend it and hope to return soon!

This home was everything and more than what we expected. The pictures on the website do not speak to the reality of your surroundings once you are at the home. The home is wonderfully decorated and remodeled and includes large sun-filled common rooms for the entire family to hang.....if you are inside at all! The property was great for "adventure hikes" as well as picking various fruits in the orchard. Much fun was spent playing ball as well as swimming - we can't wait to come back. We almost don't want to let anyone else know about this fantastic home - and keep it all to ourselves.....Ron & Jenny & Family
