We're in love with this place

We were looking for something where we didn't have to elbow others for beach access, food and just general hanging out. My husband found Kane's place on this site, and we booked it. It turned out to be the perfect decision.
We walk every morning across the road for a swim and then come back for lunch. Each day we've tried to 'do' something, but nothing really beats coming back to 'our place'. Ours two boys (ages 4 and 6) have LOVED the beach, making castles, diving for shells and rocks and donning goggles to watch the large array of fish that hang out on 'Our Rock' in the middle of our little area of paradise.
There's also a certain guilty pleasure being at a beach, (about 30 second walk from the television), where the tour boats anchor close by so people can snorkel; goodness knows how much they pay for that!
Each day Jennifer comes cruising in with her cheery smile to clean (wonderful). There's an outside shower that's fantastic, something I never really considered a must have at a beach. A beautiful iguana suns itself in the backyard daily!
We have hot water for showering, but I don't really feel we need it as the water comes out so warm anyway (the freezer is complete with ice cubes so having a cold drink is pretty easy). The kitchen is very well stocked with a 6 burner gas stove, a toaster oven and microwave).
Otmar showed us around when we got here and was on call for anything and everything if we needed him. Having access to an Aruba cell phone was very useful for calling to make reservations, etc. The computer is on all the time with easy access to the internet.
Aruba itself is incredibly beautiful. We've enjoyed dinner at the lighthouse restaurant (thank you Jennifer for babysitting) and driven around exploring as much as we can. There is easy access to buses from our street if someone prefers not to drive.
Someone described LG Smith Blvd as 'the Bel Air' of Aruba, and I can see why... this street is gorgeous.
Food is easy access and the supermarkets very easy to find, amazingly I found New Zealand butter, Cadbury's chocolate from the UK, Dutch cheeses, Chilean wines and cans of Hunt's tomatoes alongside a good range of meats. But best of all was the bakery with Dutch pastries. The taste of the breads will remain with me for a long time. Groceries prices were pretty comparable to what we pay in Connecticut.
We are already looking at returning next year.
