Elegant, fully furnished home completed in 2007 includes an attached garage with a one step entrance. The home is located at a cool 3300 ft elevation in Waynesville, NC in the heart of the Smokey Mountains. The location is ideal - just a 7 min. drive from downtown Waynesville- a small town but a big destination. Magnificent mountain views from the great room, gourmet kitchen, master bedroom, den, screened porch, open decks- upper and lower, and 3 downstairs bedrooms. The large deck space upstairs and downstairs allows you to enjoy the mountain air and be close to nature. Comfortable deck furniture gives you an excuse to nap and read while sharing the space with the birds. The quiteness is awesome as you listen carefully to hear the wild turkeys calling or the sound of a hummingbird . Some guests enjoy the large screened-in porch for outside dining during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And oh yes , the views do not go down with the sun you enjoy looking down the valley at the distant night lights twinkling in Waynesville adding to the majic under the stars. The large gourmet kitchen which is open to the great room is well equipped for the chef . The guests will enjoy being able to gather around the 4x8 ft granite center island to supervise and sample as dinner is being prepared. Dining can be enjoyed on the screened porch, dining room ,or the large island in the kitchen. For grillers , a large gas grill on the deck is two steps away from the kitchen . This spacious home has vaulted beamed ceilings on the main floor . There are 2 stone fireplaces- a wood burning on the main floor and gas burning on the floor below. Once you arrive at our home, you will not want to leave even though the easy access and proximity to ammenities will offer you the option. Hiking trails are too many to mention and the Blue Ridge Parkway plus Lake Junaluska with it's 2 mile walk around are about 5 miles from our home. Even a hike up the road this home is located on can be quite envigorating . Our home is easy to escape to and yet secluded and private. We have attempted to furnish our home with everything you will need to make your vacation complete- without having to pack everything you own. Our funishings are first class not second hand . A trip to Asheville is approximately a 30 minute drive. Free wireless is located at the library and coffee shops in downtown Waynesville and Hazelwood , A great excuse to enjoy these coffee houses in both locations We are sorry that we are not able to accommodate motorcycles in this community. While enjoying this home , please take time to smell and pick the flowers in the lovely garden. Sometimes there are even fresh herbs for the chef growing there .

A Wayneview get-a-way vacation is one of beauty, memories, and relaxation. Once you stay here , take in the view , and breathe the fresh mountain will remove the wrinkles from your soul and you will return again and again.

About Ann or Hollis Garris

We are an active couple who enjoy luxury. Hollis sells real estate on beautiful Kiawah Island, SC . Ann is a retired nurse who is now a tour guide in Charleston, SC. We have traveled and enjoy staying places that are upscale with good locations. We enjoy the outdoors and yet like the ammenities that cities and small towns offer- like great restaurants, upscale shopping etc We enjoy sharing our upscale homes in Waynesville and Kiawah Island, SC with folks when we are not enjoying it ourselves.

Ann or Hollis Garris purchased this house in 2007

Why Ann or Hollis Garris chose Waynesville

In visitng the beutiful mountains of NC we could not find a home with the views ease of access and luxuries we wanted. Many places we stayed in this area were so remote that it took forever to reach the home - once you were in the area. These remote areas made traveling after dark difficult and therefore we found ourselves staying in and not venturing out at night. Many homes had only the basic furnishings and we were disappointed each time. In the seven homes we rented while building our home , not one of them even had wine glasses. We fixed this disappointment of only the basics by building and furnishing our home with everything we felt was necessary for the perfect vacation.

Mountain Get- Away

  • 5 of 5

We had our yearly family reunion from September 28, 2008 to 12 October 2008. The vacation home has everything it claims to have. It is truly a luxury home. Upon arrival, we found the home to be emaculately clean and perfectly presented. There were no deficiencies or shortcomings of any kind. We are 5 mature (old) adults from Florida and Canada and enjoy hiking in the forrests and mountains. For us the weather was perfect, warm for the Canadians and cool for the Floridians. It was a very memorable visit and we can only give the highest marks and recommendations.

The most amazing place you will ever stay!

  • 5 of 5

It's easy to see why all the reviews have given this home 5 stars. This home is amazing, so close to Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Canton just to name a few towns. The home is tastefully decorated and absolutely beautiful. There are many restaurants nearby but we chose to prepare our meals in the fantastic kitchen which has anything you need to make any dish you want. The large granite kitchen island is the heart of the home and we spent a good deal of time there and on the wonderful screened in deck watching the birds eating from the bird feeder. The bedrooms were equally great each having it's own bathroom. No detail has been overlooked. I would recommend this home to anyone, we can't wait to go back. The home owners were wonderful to work with! Thank you!

Owner's Response: So happy to share our lovely home with nice folks. When we selected our home site , we were looking for view, view and accessibility to the wonderful small towns close by. To enjoy a outing to one of our precious towns and not feel like you driven forever to reach the area is a featrue we enjoy. Our goal was also was to have a home that folks could visit, and it would be furnished so completley that you did not feel you had to bring everything that you needed for comfort. So appreciate your care of our home and look forward to sharing it with you in the future. Ann and Hollis

Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week in the mountains with adult children and grandchildren. The home is perfect and extremely comfortable. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds comfy. The views are fabulous. The kitchen is well equipped. The extra refrigerator in the laundry room was a real bonus. We vacationed in the Waynesville area the entire time our children were growing up at a place called Rivermont owned by a nice couple. It was on the Pidgeon River and had a big barn they made into a game room for kids. However, as it goes in life, the couple aged and sold it and it is not the same anymore so we were delighted to find this beautiful house to replace it. The close proximity to Waynesville is great. Highly recommend this fantastic house.

A beautiful home in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

For our first time in the Smokies it was the perfect choice, 5 minutes from the highway, a short small winding road leads you to a wonderful laid out home and the gorgeous view down the mountain towards Waynesville. Tastefully furnished with a gourmet equipped kitchen, one of the best place we ever rented. Waynesville is a nice small city, restaurants are great, walking the street and their small boutiques is a lot of fun. Asheville, Biltmore which are worth visiting are less than an hour away. Discovering places in the Smokies is a never ending wonderful experience. We felt at home in this mountain place which tells how much care the owners put in maintaining it to a 5 stars status. A wonderful stay, thank you Ann and Hollis Anne and Didier

From The Ocean to the Mountains

We were so delighted with this wonderful mountain home, the pictures don't begin to show the beauty of the inside-and the outside view towards Waynesville looks like it was made for this house-truly. We made use of the clean 2 car garage and admired the landscaping. Wild turkeys came calling 2 mornings. The two living areas are so comfortable and well appointed and the bedrooms/bathrooms are dreamy. It was cool enough to sleep with the doors open and the mountain air was so restorative. Everything was so clean that it looked brand new! The kitchen is better stocked than mine at home. We three couples made ourselves at home, hung the bird feeder each day (huge numbers of well-trained birds waiting for your viewing pleasure! ;-)). We spent much time relaxing and porch-sitting. We went out to eat each day in the surrounding areas, Balsam Mountain Inn and the Blue Ridge Parkway as well as Waynesville, a charming town. There were Farmer's Markets and Craft Shows and shops to explore. Churches, grocery stores, etc. are all convenient. A perfect mountain get-away from seashore loving folks. Thanks so very much for sharing your beautiful home with us, it reflects your elegant taste and yet down home attitudes!

Owner's Response: So refreshing to share our home with folks who enjoy the beauty of the area and our home. The floor plan of our home offeres privacy and yet some spacious areas where folks can gather. That bird feeder is amazing! It seems to have a dinner bell and attracts such beautiful creatures who perform before they feast. Waynesville is a perfect area with many wonderful activites that reflect the beautiful world we live in. The location of Waynesville allows guest to venture to other close by small towns with ease. So happy you enjoyed and hope you will return. Ann and Hollis
