Don't Read this Review!!

Review Submitted: August 19, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
I didn't want to write a review because I'd rather keep this secret to myself. However, the least I can do is share our wonderful experience at this home because the owners prefer that we share as opposed to not. If you like nice places to stay in great great locations, read on.

Decor is nicely done and new. We felt as if we were the first ones to stay there. Doesn’t' have a "rental" feel at all. It doesn't have the "you’re staying in someone's home feel either”. It’s definitely on a mountain. There’s definitely a great view. You’re definitely not hours from a grocery store. We're picky and used to staying in luxury hotels and this lacked nothing. Enough said. And no, the pictures don't do it justice.

Waynesville is a great secret as well. It has a cute downtown and small town shopping, good places to eat etc. You may struggle to find Fed Ex. (that's a good thing). 35 minutes from Asheville and Biltmore. 35 minutes from whitewater rafting. It’s close to Maggie valley.

Lastly, if you book this, you'll get a mailer with the list of rules and guidelines. We appreciated the rules because they are what make this place 5 star for some time to come. There’s nothing there you won’t want to follow, but I like the place so much that I also ask you to follow the rules. Keep it in the same condition in which you found it, because I know we'll be back and I want it just the way we left it. Perfect.
Owner's Response: Thank your for respecting our values and caring for our home in a loving way. We will continue to rent our home to folks like you.

Relaxation at its finest!

ctandrose Wilson, NC USA
Review Submitted: March 18, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
My parents, 3 siblings and spouses, take a special trip each year. We do this mainly because one sibling lives several states away and we only see them at Christmas each year otherwise. So, you can imagine how special this time is for all of us. It was great to have such a wonderful home to spend our time in!

We were all pleased with the comfort level. The home itself is beautiful and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was one of our favorite spots. We did a lot of cooking and were very pleased to find everything we needed at our fingertips. The quality of appliances and furnishings were high above any other rental property we have ever experienced. The large 4' X 8' island was perfect for 8 people to gather around to cook, share, and eat. We appreciated that things were labeled (light switches, coffee maker, ect...) this made things simple.

I was glad that there was a luxurious master bedroom on the main floor with all other main living space. This meant my mother didn't have to climb any stairs. The 3 extra bedrooms with king size beds and full baths downstairs were perfect for the rest of us. The family room was spacious enough for all of us to hang out and there was a separate den downstairs if anyone wanted to spread out.

The lower deck provided gorgeous mountain sunrise views from 2 bedrooms and the den. You can kick back in a rocker and enjoy the sunrise or the twinkling night lights of Waynesville. The upper deck reached from the master bedroom across the family room to the kitchen. Perfect! The screened in section with eating areas was great. Having the gas grill directly out the kitchen door made cooking a breeze.

We spent part of our days shopping in downtown Waynesville. Great shops with lots of culture. Wonderful cafes and coffee shops available. Enough there to spend an entire day (and your entire wallet!) We visited some wonderful waterfalls. The drive itself was an adventure! There were many stops along the way, places to climb down to the water, a sliding rock area, and the big falls area that provided adventure and great photo opportunities. We could have easily driven to Asheville or Maggie Valley (30 minutes) but we were enjoying your home so much we just wanted to hang out there!

Thank you for thinking of everything (even the rules! which are common sense!) to make our stay comfortable. Thank you for sharing your home and we hope to make this a repeat destination.

We didn't want to leave.

Review Submitted: January 19, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
Oh my goodness! What a wonderful home! We just arrived back home to south Georgia from a long weekend in the Garris home. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing weekend. We were 4 girlfriends who needed rest and relaxation away from home and we definitely found it here.
We absolutely loved having a bed and bath for each of us.
Everything was perfect. From the sooooo comfortable beds, to the beautiful kitchen, to the magificent views, to the well-equipped baths, to the lit tree in the courtyard.....everything we needed was there plus more.
The property owners, managers, and neighbors were so helpful. They checked on us daily to make sure that us four girls were OK. One sweet, sweet neighbor even called and offered to go down the mountain and get anything we might need if we weren't comfortable driving down on the snow covered road. This home is not like a vacation rental at all. We actually felt as though we were at home. We'll certainly be back. We checked our calendars on the way home looking for another free time to return with our spouses.

Beautiful home with a spectacular view

Review Submitted: September 2, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful home! It is spacious, yet cozy, beautifully decorated, has a fantastic kitchen and a breath-taking view. The layout of the house makes this a perfect vacation getaway for families or groups. With four king bedrooms, each with its own bath, a den downstairs, and a great room upstairs, there's plenty of room for everyone to gather together, but also enough room for everyone to spread out and find their own private space if necessary. The view is absolutely spectacular - pictures simply can't do it justice. You feel like you are miles away from everyone, yet you're only a few minutes from the charming town of Waynesville and just over a half an hour from Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. This is a wonderful home to visit any time of the year. I hope to return soon!

Beautiful Mountain Retreat

Review Submitted: September 1, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We recently stayed in this upscale mountain retreat for a girls weekend. We could have stayed all week - the view is spectacular & the house is in pristine condition. There is plenty of room for 8 adults; a group of girls especially appreciated all the bathroom space and a fully stocked kitchen!
Very close to downtown Waynesville and a short drive to the Grove Park. It was hard to come home. Thanks for a wonderful, relaxing weekend.
