Comfortable quality-constructed cabin built in 2001 with all of the amenities that you desire! Enjoy the breath-taking mountain views year-round from the covered back porch while you lounge in the relaxing hot tub! The cabin is tastefully decorated with bear, wolf, deer and other wildlife artwork and decor. Wireless internet for your laptop and central heat and air-conditioning (not a window unit like some cabins have). The master bedroom and a guest bedroom are on the main level. The master bedroom has a private exterior door leading to the deck and hot tub. Both of the main level bedrooms have queen-size luxury pillow-top mattresses and soft sheets! A comfortable queen pull-out sofa is also on the main level and a bunk-bed and futon sofa are in the finished part of the basement. There are ceiling fans in every bedroom and the cabin interior has beautiful pine floors, walls and ceilings! No-steps entry into the cabin!
Only ten minutes to historic downtown Blue Ridge and the Scenic Blue Ridge Railway (mountain train-ride tours available)! About fifteen minutes to historic downtown Ellijay, Blue Ridge lake, the Toccoa river and the Cartecay river. About thirty minutes to the Ocoee river or Amicalola Falls State Park (Tallest water-falls in the Southeast!) There are several stocked mountain lakes within hiking distance in this eight-thousand acre exclusive cabin community. The famous Benton-Mackaye trail, which intersects with the Appalachian trail, passes right through the mountain that the cabin sits on! There are also several horse-back riding facilities very close to the cabin!
Come and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature at 'The Bear's Lair' cabin in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains! There is a wood swingset outside for the kids, and a foosball table in the basement! Paved driveway and parking pad. About 90 minutes north of Atlanta. Sorry, no pets please.
We stayed at the Bear's Lair the week after Christmas. We were very fortunate to find such a nice cabin for our first stay in a mountain cabin. The cabin was clean and the view was beautiful. We especially liked the location of the cabin which is between Blue Ridge and Ellijah. Both had quaint downtowns which were lovely. Many scenic drives are close by too. Another great thing is that Ed was always reachable for any questions, concerns, or recommendations. Thanks so much!
This is a very nice cabin and much larger than it appears from the outside. The kitchen is nicely appointed, the beds are very comfortable and the cabin is decorated wonderfully. The gas-log fireplace heats up the entire cabin quickly and the view out back was amazing. We have stayed in cabins in other parts of Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina. This was one of our favorite trips. I almost forgot, there is a great hiking trail right there on the mountain (Benton MacKaye Trail). Make sure you stop by Cherry Log Barbecue (about 15 minutes from the cabin)! Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven Ed!
Cabin is located in a perfectly fine area and on the surface looks great (ie...pictures) Sadly it is in need of a deep cleaning. The furniture is musty and old the bedding and blankets need replaced the towels are old. My wife and I had to wash the bedding and purchase towels for our 3 night stay. The dishes are all plastic and the grill is the cheapest available. There is absolutely nothing keeping this cabin from being a 5 star weekend getaway except for the cleaning crew and some minor furniture and kitchenware upgrades.
My husband and I took a few days away without the kids and we chose this place and couldn't be happier! It is on a quite street with a beautiful view. We stayed in a good bit and they had everything we needed to cook in. The only bad thing I can say is they didn't have cable and we are big football fans and ended up having to watch the game on our cell phone!! LOL Otherwise this cabin was a good choice we had a great time and it was very homey. We will defiantly come back to this cabin when we return in the future and it is big enough that we could bring the family. It is much larger than it looks in the pics!
This cabin was perfect for our weekend getaway. The views were amazing. The cabin itself was charming, stocked with anything you could need, and clean. Ed was extremely friendly and quick in response to any inquiry. It was in a great location. We have already been recommending it to friends and we look forward to staying again in the future!
We really enjoyed our weekend stay at The Bear's Lair! We just wish that we had more time. The cabin is well equipped with comfortable furniture, comfy beds, and has everything our family of 5 needed for a great weekend. The area is beautiful, and we suggest horseback riding at Blanche Manor...well mannered horses, scenic trails and friendly staff.
