'The Guest House' is a year-round home on an acre+ of land that was once part of a large estate. Set on a bluff overlooking spectacular Lake Michigan, the 200' private beach is just steps away from a large deck spanning the entire length of the home that overlooks the lake! This is great place to start your day or relax at any time. The Guest House is a FIVE bedroom two story home; three bedrooms with full bath upstairs, a large combined living/dining/game area, and kitchen with all new applicances. The lower level has two bedrooms & sleeper sofa, bathroom w/shower and a large sitting/game area with big-screen TV (perfect for the kids!). The Guest House sleeps 12 comfortably with plenty of room for cots/sleeping bags if you have extra guests. The home is air-conditioned & heated and has a washer & dryer.
'The Guest House' is the perfect spot for those large family or multi-family gatherings. This is the type of property that you will return to for years to come! The Guest House comes fully stocked with linens, kitchenware, pots, pans, deck chairs & lounges, etc. It also has a washer and dryer, cable TV & wireless internet.
IMPORTANT: Wireless internet is available. Please plan to BRING A CELL PHONE as there is NO landline phone service, as well as your own beach towels. We have SOME beach chairs but they tend to appear/disappear over time, so best to bring some just in case.
Whether it be for a large family vacation, a multi-family getaway or a romantic weekend, the Guest House with it's own 200 ft. of private beach is a wonderful place to get away from it all!
The activities are numerous and all rejuvenating! Start your day with breakfast on the deck overlooking the lake while you plan your day. You may decide to walk the beach, visit the shops or art galleries in South Haven or Douglas/Saugatuk, charter a fishing boat or sailboat, rent Jet Skis, read a book, go fruit-picking at one of the many local orchards, or visit the local Fenn Valley Vineyards. No matter what you do, you will most likely cap off your day watching the postcard sunset over Lake Michigan, then do it all again the next day! You'll forget time and all the stress you left behind!
For those who know South Haven, The Guest House is about a half mile west of the DeGrandchamp's Blueberry Farm on Blue Star Hwy. on the south side of town.
Walk the beach about a mile south to the Van Buren State Park Dunes area (or as far as you can go!) The shops in South Haven are a five-minute drive. Saugatuk/Douglas is just 15-20 minutes north on scenic Blue Star Hwy. Golf courses are abundant ranging from local public links courses to world-class championship tracks like Hawks Head in South Haven.
