Beautiful lakefront chalet-style vacation home with spectacular views, fireplace and jacuzzi in a community with two outdoor pools and one indoor pool; it is located in the Wallenpaupack Lake area in beautiful Lake Ariel, PA which is about 2 hours from New York City. Unlike other lake fronts which place you up hills and long walking distances to the lake, we are Right On one of the smaller lakes....you will wake up and look out your windows to beautiful close-up views of the beautiful lake. The door is literally steps to the dock and not down steep hills either! Unlike being on the 'big' lake (Wallenpaupack) which allows powerboats and jet skis, our lake is a non-power boating lake which means No waking up to noisy boat motors and the ZZZZ of jet skis!! We accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover cards as payment, but not American Express, sorry.
Renter Requirements: Renters must be 30 years of age or older and we will require photocopies of drivers licenses to ensure compliance with this rule. Families with children are the only exceptions to this rule. There is NO smoking in the house. NO CATS are allowed, EVER.
Community: For summer renters, there are two outdoor pools....There is a nice lodge at the nearby pool which offers games for kids & teens. There are tennis courts at this pool area which must be reserved in advance at the main office. There is also an indoor pool which is about 5 minutes drive and there is schedule of times that it is open. All community amenities require badges which we will provide to renters.Fishing: there is ample opportunity to do so and the fishing is great in all three lakes (Lake Wallenpaupack is the BIG lake, and the two smaller lakes in our community are called Deer Lake & Beaver Lake, which are both NON-power-boating lakes). If you wish to fish, you MUST get fishing licenses to do so (adults). It is a simple process and it is very inexpensive, but it could cost a lot of money if you fail to have one and get caught fishing without it! Please contact owner for website where you can purchase your fishing license.
Children may only fish with a licensed adult present

This was an absolutely wonderful weekend. We took three couples with children and we had a spectacular time. The snow, the lake, the views, the deer etc. Most importantly John and Eileen were the kindest people before during and after. I will do this again and again and looking forward to bonding with family and friends. I urge people to take the time to do something like this just to get some peace and calm and put the everything behind them for a few days.
Thank you again
The best thing we did for the Family... The house had something for everyone. And it was easy for not only my Grandmother to get around, but also safe for the little two year olds! LOVED how close the walk to the pool & beach are to the house. We love to make this something we do again & again.
A group of my guy friends and I spent this past weekend at the house and had an amazing time! The accommodations are spacious and comfortable for 9 guys - plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces. The kitchen was a perfect layout and size for preparing big meals. We loved the hot tub, pool table, and ping pong - so many ways to be entertained on a cold, snowy weekend.
The owners are very responsive - quick to answer questions and process payments/deposit refunds.
We plan to make this an annual trip - thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home!
This vacation was our second anniversary and we wanted a nice place to stay which was peaceful and relaxing and this was just what the doctor ordered. It had everything you could possibly want or need. You wouldn't even have to leave if you didn't want to. The scenery was beautiful and it was just an overall wonderful vacation. The only problem was the hot tub wasn't working properly, but the owner was quick to call us and tried to get someone to come out to fix it. Hopefully someday we can come stay here again!! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful chalet!!!
I stayed at this wonderful home with friends for a weekend of relaxation. Everything at the house was in great shape. We particularly enojoyed the firepit in the yard near the lake. The pool table and hot tub also proved to be valuable assets for the evening. I would definitely stay here again.
What a fantastic getaway! My wife, my 18 month old daughter, and myself thoroughly enjoyed this house and it's amenities:
* Having a stocked wood pile for the fireplace kept us warm and didn't make us search too far for wood.
* The house was very well maintained. Very clean.
* The views were breathtaking. Waking up to the lake in the morning and having coffee at the dining room table was so relaxing.
* The hot tub helped us relax at night after chasing around our daughter all day.
* The small things like: cable TV, decent wi-fi, skylights in the master bedroom really put this house over the edge.
We've stayed in 5 lake houses in the Northeast, in different states each time. This house is truly a must see. The crazy thing is, we didn't even really get to use the lake because we came in the winter time, but the house was so warm and cozy we still had an awesome time!
I would recommend this house for families and couples.
One final thing. Many times when you stay places you have very little interaction with the home owner. Usually it's a quick email or phone conversation, exchange of money, and a 'thank you' when it's all done. Martin was the exception to this rule. A great guy, very pleasant to deal with and super helpful. Our family visited the Poconos looking to possibly purchase a rental property ourselves and Martin went above and beyond helping us to wrap our head around the area. He answered emails promptly when we had questions and even chatted with me for about a half hour on the phone before we arrived at the house.
Overall, one of the best house rental experiences we've ever had!
Our community has a marina on the 'big lake', Lake Wallenpaupack, and owners have lake rights to the big lake. Our house is on one of the two smaller lakes in our community.
Ski: There are is a nearby ski area: Sno Mountain. Sno Mountain is fairly new, used to be called Montage Mountain but was purchased and they changed the name. It's an outstanding mountain which has a great ski instruction program which is wonderful for children. It is about 20 minute drive from the house. You can check out the slopes, conditions, amenities they offer, etc. at their websites:
